Hit the 1/4 yesterday and trapped 116 mph.
Last time out I was getting Air/Fuel ratio's in the 14's above 5K RPM's, which was causing me to short-shift to keep it safe. My trap speed back then was 110-111 MPH.
Subsequently I installed a larger fuel pump to deal with the lean condition and went back to the track to see what the results would be. Running on street tires I had a horrible 60' of 2-2.1 seconds. The best ET I could muster was a 12.31, but it's the trap speed that tells the tale.
I picked up 5-6 MPH in the 1/4, going from a 111 trap to 116.
Here's a quick video of one of the runs:
Good trap, 10.* A/F, 20 psi - YouTube
This video shows a lot of smoke coming from the tailpipes of a Mustang that blew a head gasket or something while racing me. I really felt sorry for the guy. We were side-by-side at the 1/8th. I starting pulling hard and pulling past him, and that's when I think he hit the nitrous. He caught back up, but before the 1/4 the entire track was full of smoke.

Very nice! Your trap speed is what my best is so far. Get some sticky tires and see what she'll do. Do you have the LSD? What was the temp at the track during your run?

Thanks.
No LSD until I kill this one. The air temp was 70F, humidity 30%, and barometric pressure 30.05. The track altitude is 529'. I didn't get around to checking the DA, but that should be all the info you need to check it if you want. I can't at work since they block all the racing website.
grip grip.... you might have asked Steve what kind of brakes he has before accepting the 'stopping' bet....
it might make a difference...
it might make a difference...
Who wagers a bet about stopping distance at a drag strip?
IIRC it's the first guy to cross the line. Don't worry about stopping, something will eventually stop you if the brakes don't
Anthony, you coming down to Steele with us in a few weeks?

it might make a difference...Even using my stock setup I think I have a shot of hanging with him due to the higher weight of the SLK. By the way, Steve is my neighbor, sort of. He lives 90 minutes away.

Yes sir, as long as it's not snowing and work doesn't interfere. I might have to take a day of vacation to secure the time off.
What date are you guys driving down?

it might make a difference...I just found some interesting information.
The SLK55 with big brakes like Steve's stops from 60mph in 115 feet.
The SLK32 AMG stops in 127 feet.
The SRT6 stops in 113 feet.
Curb Weights:
SLK55: 3,455
SLK32: 3,450
SRT6: 3,240
I think the Crossfire has the advantage even with stock brakes.
