Default Car wont start. Please help.

Took my 2005 Crysler Crossfire regular asperated base model to Dealer for diagnosis. Car would turn over and over but would not fire up . They showed me the intake manifold was cracked open at bottom front. wanted 2300.00 to fix. So i brought car back home and replaced the manifold in it with another intake manifold i bought online. Once finished i turned key to start and still just turned over and not fire up. Took cap off fuel rail and no fuel pressure or fuel in fuel rail. Ordered a new electric fuel pump and installed it....Still no fuel coming into fuel rail....Where do i go from here????? Very Frustrated with this freggin car.........!!!!! Ready to run it off a cliff here. Can anyone help....ECM took it out and resoldered but im a shitty soldering guy.

Could be the relay control module ? I believe there is a relay in it that activates the fuel pump. You say you re-soldered the ECM, do you mean the RCM? Don't forget to check the the relay contact surfaces on the RCM

The wiring for the fuel pump is pretty simple :

Here is the fuel pump relay in the RCM :

How long has it been "cranks but does not start" ? Did it run while you had it ?

What you do next depends on your skill level but anything is fixable.

First thing is to download the '05 service manual (.pdf in Archives) and read up on what to check when it does not start.

That said if mine I would remove the engine cove & introduce about 1/2 oz of hi-test into the intake (do not pour on MAF sensor. Then replace the cover. Crank it and see if it even sputters. NOTE: usual caveats about professionals only apply.

ps if sputters usual culprits are fuse 5 or the fuel pump relay both on the RCM) or a bad solder joint on the RCM. ($128 on Amazon)

A simple test light will tell you if the fuel pump relay either has signal at the coil or the contacts a pulling in. Did you check to see if this pump or the original run with 12v applied to them? Even better you have a volt/ohm meter? That is the best tool to prove electronics are working.

Listen for the fuel pump to run for about 2 seconds when you turn the key to the ON position.
If you don't hear a buzz sound from behind the seats (gas tank) then the fuel pump is not getting juice (Voltage).

Could be the fuse on the RCM but my guess is the fuel relay in the RCM is bad. I can replace that for you.

If you want you can open the RCM and force the fuel pump relay contacts closed then try to start. If it starts you found the problem. I can fix that for you!

If you DO hear the fuel pump, disregard all of the above. :-)
