He called me back yesterday and said he would like to get my old sensors and try to get the code off of them and then try to program the orange ones. At least he will try. I am scheduled next weekend with him.

Fred at discount read the codes from the oranges sensors and was able to print out the ID Hex and ID Dec for me to take to the dealer to have them program the TMPS overhead module. He confirmed that the sensors were the right type and that they were showing as the OEM schrader 4096.

The chrysler dealer service department in Boerne scheduled me at 1:30. Adam helped me out and said that there would be no charge if they weren't able to fix the problem. He said it would be about an hour. 1 1/2 hours later, without an update I asked what the status was and he said that the sensors were sending signals but not correctly and they were still trying to train the module. Another 1 1/2 hours later with no updates he finally said that they couldn't make it work and needed to order a new TPM module for $800 since that was the problem and then said that I owed him $98.00. When I asked him about what he had said early about no charge if they didn't fix the problem he acted like he had never said that. When I explained that the TPM module was working until the new sensors were installed, he didn't know what to say.

Don't use Boerne chrysler for service unless you want to be charged for work they aren't competent to perform, make you wait three times longer than expected, and provide surprisingly bad customer service.

Still spending time and money looking for a solution.......

I hope to this month. Dicount tire said that they will sell me some of their sensors that they can custom program to the codes that the previous ones are sending out. Hopefully this should work. I'll post an update.

My cell # is 210 648 5779. Discount on O,Conner Road jacked me around for over a month. I bought a spare wheel and had them mount one of thier transmitters and a tire. I replaced my right front with the new wheel and tire w/sensor. I immediatly got a low tire reading with 35 lbs of air all around. They finally gave up and told me to go to Chrysler on I-35. Chrysler sold me a new sensor which discount installed but could not program. Chrysler did reprogram so all is well now. I get a low tire reading at 30 lbs. Discount refunded $76.00 and Chrysler charged $110.00.

I wonder can one be ordered from Japan at this point! 4 sensors and the T30 would still be cheaper than the dealer it looks like. Then you would be set and able to deal with any other vehicles you have..

Okay I've waited long enough.. what's the verdict?

And do you still have the Orange sensors? Since I have the MHZ and ID of my oem's I'm thinking might be able to get these pre-programmed and ready for an install...

I'm thinking in your post about dealing with the dealer.. they activated the sensors but never gave them an ID.. so sending a signal with no ID data..

I don't know but I am still pissed at the dealer. I still have the orange ones installed, still have the dash light on.

If they did what you are thinking then that makes me even more pissed becuase I gave them a print out of the codes that the old sensors were sending off. The discount guy said it should be easy enough for a 3rd grader since the dealer has the coding multi tool.

Dang, when I saw this pop up in my e-mail I thought there was a programmer in the SA area. Thanks for continuing to try and find a solution here!

Off topic, I stopped by BEGI and talked with Corky for a while. I didn't want to bring up the turbo project and he didn't offer. He wanted to see an srt6 and talked about efficiency of lyschom and water to air intercooling.

Then I found one of his previous employees, Tim Pawkett, who opend up a small shop just up the road from Corky and he tig welded my wideband O2 sensor on.

Everybody wants to ignore the Elephant in the room huh... LOL.

When that other thread popped up I thought we finally had an answer.. then dug deeper and found it was only to activate sensors.

Did you ever try calling around to tire shops and see if they use the ATEQ VT55 programming tool?
Unless the dealer totally jacked up the computer settings, someone with that programmer should be able to fix you up in a heartbeat since you have the ID's.

I called a few and they were not at all interested and said no.

That's the way they acted and a day or so later I realized what you just pointed out. Ha Ha Ha. I have been checking manually until I get motivated to spend more money and time on the problem.

Rudy had a post where he describes the deletion of the wire to the light. Did it years ago and never looked back. Its too much government in you tire for me. I use the stem to fill the tire and dont have caps on the stem as I check the pressures and do not choose to rely on the :sensor".

Pulling the wire is simple and if someone wants they can switch it back easily. WOODY

I check my oil too.. doesn't mean if the sensor goes out I want to disable it.. Call me cynical but I like have a little extra "hey buddy"..might want to take a another look option.

You do not have caps on the stems?
That is foolhardy as crap gets down the stem and can lodge in the valve when you put air in the tire and let the tire go flat. It happened to me in the winter, with no cap on before I filled the tire up to pressure, I blew ice into the valve and the tire went down. It was snowing and I thought the road was slippery.
But the tire was going flat, the tire was ruined before I realized the truth.

Is an oil sensor really as difficult as the manufacturer intended the TPMS to be? Reality makes me realize that it is going to take buying another new set of TPMS to get this problem fixed.

Or you might try the new vendor in California (don't think this was listed previously) .. If I'm not mistaken the original one was Chicago..

Orange Electronic Co., Ltd. - TPMS(Tire Pressure Monitoring System)
