I looked at the Atlanta sites to see what there is. Here's what I found a few things:
Fernbank Museum of Natural History on 767 Clifton Rd, Atlanta, GA 30307 (404-929-6300) cross street is Ponce de Leon Ave. Sort of downtown-ish. They have dinosaurs!
Chateau Elan, a winery, off of I-85, is 45min north or Atlanta. $5 tour; $5 wine tasting; $90 for 50min massage. They also have a beautiful inn. I ck'd the price...$367 - $199 for 1 person for 1 night.
Too much for me at the moment.... Address is 100 Rue Charlemagne, Baselton, GA 30517 (1-800-233-WINE)
At or around Stone Mtn, back in the mid 80's, I remember going to an antique car museum. I tried but cannot find it. Does anyone know about it or have interest in it? I'd like to know if its still around/where.
And, I'm another of those who can't do lots of hiking or stay out in heat due to health problems.

I have some friends who live in stone mountain. I'll see if they know about it.
Chateau Elan is nice but its a straight drive through cop breeding grounds. GSP as well as Gwinnett and Hall county stalk people on 85 and numerous other police jurisdictions work that section of 85 due to proximity to Road Atlanta.

Don't worry everyone:
I'm a hiker, but there WON'T be any hiking - cause it's too hot and cause I don't drive the Roadster anytime I am even POSSIBLY going to get dirty!
Fernbank sound cool to me. I also wonder what it would cost to go thru the Aquarium. I've heard NOTHING but good about it.

But we're up for whatever the group decides.

So Chateau Elan is about an 80 minute drive from Upstate SC and less than an hour from Atlanta. Could be a reasonable choice for us to meet , greet & eat!
And then there's the Petit Le Mans SEP 29-OCT 2 at Road Atlanta (Panoz owns that track also). We could plan a GTG on one of the weekend race days. Car & Driver just rated Road Atlanta one of the best road courses in USA.
But the imporatnt thing is for us to just GTG. Why back in the days of owning Merkur XR4Ti's, a group of us met at the Dave & Buster's just off I-85S on the north side of Atlanta. Back parking lot was practically vacant and we had a blast looking over our cars & 'talking shop'. Even that works for me!

Please see the first post and post any comments here. Infinite knows Atlanta better than I do - but anyone is encouraged to make suggestions for activities, dates, etc.
I guess, since I started this, I will kinda be the "go to guy" for this, but I am very dependant on Infinite and the rest of you to give ideas of where to go/what to do!

Keep the day simple, costs reasonable, and the main thing is that nearby XFire Owners gather for some friendship, fun driving and anything else that comes along. Don't be concerned about pleasing everyone. It's not possible! No matter what & when you decide, some of us won't be able to participate.
As far as Roberta & I joining in, we're good in August on any weekend day other than the 7th or 21st, when scheduled to work.
Take a look at this thread (XFire Owners - NC/SC/GA) where I started a list of scheduled events in our area within the SE Region. I've already linked back to this thread, so once you decide on details, we'll be already setup for others to check out details.
Looking forward to what you guys decide,

Somebody wake this back up!
Savannah would be too much a drive, nearly 8 hours and I'm way too broke to even think about spending the night in a hotel somewhere, but I could do Atlanta for a day on the weekend.
It's only the 7th, so somebody figure something out.
