I'm definately in. I live in Marietta, Ga. The only thing is that my crossfire has fell victim of a hit and run driver. Slight rip in front bumper and side marker busted, not bad, but not in show room condition.

It's ok, don't be ashamed. Mine is in similar shape from a similar experience. Hit and run drivers, AKA scum of the earth.

I say we spend the weekend tracking them down and beating them to death.

I would try to help pick a meeting spot, but I haven't the slightest idea what is in atlanta. So any idea from some local people as to a good spot?

Infinite or pizzaguy, I'd suggest as an initial GTG you two just pick a place where we can gather for eats. I wouldn't try to make a really big deal out of this, especially since you're just trying to get things kicked-off in this region. Pick a restaurant (that can handle a group) with ample parking for our XFires (you know we're all picky about where we park!) and set a date this month. You guys know the area best. As I've stated before, the Merkur Club I used to be a member of met at the Dave & Busters along I-85 on the northside of Atlanta. Not my most favorite eatery, but plenty of parking and they can handle a group.

In this economy, driving a farther than normal distance to eat is probably not something most of us would do. But add into the mix the opportunity to meet other XFire Owners and you'd be surprised how many would show up.

Ok, I'm up for the 14/15th or 28/29th.

How bout we all get together for lunch? I really don't know ATL that well, live just 1/2 hour south of the airport but seldom go into ATL for ANYTHING.

It sounds like the Dave & Busters along I-85 on the northside of Atlanta is a candidate.
(Turns out, there are two up in that area along I85, but I THINK the one mentioned above is:

Gwinnett4000 Venture Drive Duluth , GA 30096
Phone: 770-497-1152

I vote for the 14th, since I am going away for Labor day and will be on call the other weekends.
Who is in for at least a lunch meet and parking lot bull session?

Well, it's impossible to get everyone together on one day. I have 1 or 2 weekends a month I am on call... everyone else has conflicts.

C'mon everyone, August 14th or 28th - what will it be? This will be the first ATL GTG - to be followed by another one maybe EARLY next year (after the Dragon and the Savannah GTG in NOvember!)

Let's do a lunchtime meet, even if it's only local ATL people this time - and then try something bigger next year with intent to draw peopple in from 100 or more miles away, ok?

Either one of those days is okay with Roberta & I. She works every other Saturday, but those Saturdays are her off days in August. We'll be watching to see the final decision.

Nice effort,

In order to give everyone the most notice, how 'bout we go with the 28th?

(Maybe it'll be under 90F by then.) (And I wasn't being sarcastic, 13 - just can't get everyone together on any one day.)

I can make the 28th also. Not to complicate things, but the Varsity might be a good option to meet at as well. I am good for either one.

The World's Largest Drive-in sits on more than two acres and can accommodate 600 cars and over eight hundred people inside. On days of Georgia Tech football games up to 30,000 people visit The Varsity. It sells more than two miles of hotdogs daily, a ton of onion rings, 2500 pounds of fresh cut potatoes, 5000 homemade fried pies, and 300 gallons of chili, all of which are made from scratch daily. The downtown Varsity is also the world's largest single outlet for Coca-Cola.

This is where the now famous cry of The Varsity started "What'll Ya Have".
