Automatic Transmission Dipstick ???
Is there a dipstick to measure the ATF? If not, how do you know how much is needed or maybe it's too full? Just wondered how the level is checked. Anyone know?
It has a break away security cap... you will need to have a new cap for the dipstick tube, and you will also need the special tool (long dipstick with correct measurements) #xyz. The procedure is to obtain the transmission internal temperature via test box using the on board computer, and apply that temp to the chart in the manual, and then set level accordingly. When your done, cap it with the break-away cap.
Note: The special dipstick is longer than the tube... and goes all the way in and stops on the pan of the transmission, measuring from there.
Also, the transmission uses very specific oil...
