Transmission mods?
Hey guys, I sold my second "Fun" car heavily modded '92 vette with a 6 speed. Now, I only have an auto Crossfire and I am hoping there is a way to sharpen the shifting. Has anyone modded their Torque Converter or electronics/computer to make the auto perform with more performance.
I also would guess that the manual function is electronically activated, we should be able to move the function to an aftermarket steering wheel.
This is my first auto now without my weekend fix of ripping through the gears in my vette I am hoping that I can add more performance.

as for performance, search around the forum for intake (just DIY; nothing available commercially), 'exhaust' (borla, magnaflow, etc.), 'upsolute' (chip), headers (for $1,400); you'll find pretty quickly there's not much around... short of spending $8-10K on a supercharger kit from the big boys (startech, renntech, klemman... at that point you might as well trade 'er in for an SRT|6).
Oh, I love the Crossfire, definitely the nicest car I've owned, the "only" referred to the auto. It is my daily driver, now it must pull double duty as my weekend toy as well.
I thought I read somewhere that the AMG models had a more aggressive shifting transmission, can a retuned computer firm and quicken the shifts?
No aftermarket steering wheels available to fit, I wonder if an AMG wheel would fit. They have the shift buttons on the back of the wheel. Don't know how expensive, but I'm sure that it can be made to work on our cars. I don't like shifting the gears left to right. Has anyone modded their torque converter?
$1,400 for headers, wow!!! Are there any cams available? The power is pretty good, I would think that a head/cam/cpu upgrade would put it right. I really like the chassis, really stiff. This car can be made to handle with the best out there.
