Default anyone consider this yet?

i've been think that a 230 compressor motor would be a relitively easy swap for car that would offer some considerable benifits: weight, engine compartment space, better weight distribution, and should be easier to mod because you can start throwing all of your forced induction mods at it. intercooler, pulleys, etc. i was also thinking that a 230 compressor motor would be easier to fabricate a turbo system for.

i bought my car for the sole purpose of learning to drift and learning to drive a RWD. so the prospect of getting closer to a 50/50 distribution sounds very appealing.

don't you kinda want a drift car to be a little nose heavy for control? I thought you want to pivot a couple feet forward the CG not on the CG, am I wrong with this idea? I think you just need more HP.

Being able to successfully defeat the traction control might be a +.

my thoughts exactly, and i think the ideal is 60/40 for drifting which means more weight up front... talk to latana lol.

you may very well be correct, ty for the input. to be honest i'm not sure weather or not shooting for a 50/50 is the way to go. i was just basing that assumption on the fact that alot of the traditionally favored drift cars have at or near a 50/50, RX7 and AE86 come to mind. as far as the TC is concerned i haven't had any problems with just disengaging it though my friend(amature drifter) seemed to notice some assisted breaking even with it turned off, but it didn't seem to be an issue wile he was drifting it.

First of all, the M111 engine = ***. Ok. Insisting on a 50:50 weight distribution is useless.

Save your money for tires and an english subtitled copy of Keiichi Tsuchiya's "Drift Bible" DVD.

I hope you have money because drifting on those 19" rear tires is going to get expensive and your engine is going to get totally f***ed up.

No LSD and traction control? You picked the wrong car

well, as my handle implies i'm more of a touge guy and i'm just now finding the oportunity to get some good track practice time with some friends. but after the no LSD coment i looked around and found the thread from the chrysler guy explaining what my friend was feeling. ug, how disapointing... drifting was only part of the rwd experience that i was looking for coming from an entirely FWD backround. but it seems that i have most certainly choosen the wrong vehicle for my application. i guess i'll trade it in for something with a real LSD and an american motor that actually has some aftermarked suport in the US. thanks for helping me make my decision guys.

yeah, your real issue is the final drive open diff, first install the phantom grip LSD kit, then disconnect the hot lead to the TC/ABS system. shouldn't have any problems slidding it then. post some videos when you get it all tuned.
