So, how are battery prices these days? I got my "Sure Start" from O'Reilly's back in the fall of 2010 for $89.95

What are you guys paying these days? I was in line behind a guy at AutoZone about a month ago who was throwing a fit because (according to him), the battery for his car had gone from $70 to $140 in three years.

Is the EPA going after Lead-Acid batteries like it is Coal or was this guy nuts?

I was not cheap ... $165.00

BUT!!!...have Firestone install it...it IS the only way to get the rebate! Plus there is a $15 core charge(I was gonna keep the old one for my beater), I had to take it back for the core charge.

They gave me the rebate slip when I picked up the battery, without telling me about having them install it
Fits great, only wish it had the handles.

I was about to go to WalMart and get a new battery since, over the past two days, I started the car, then the spoiler came up, then, last night, I stopped for gas, left the car door open and the radio on for less than 10 minutes, then couldn't start the car. Strange thing: The battery has an etching with 12-16-11, and some marking on the edge on one side, but NO LABEL! What?!

Spolier does show a low voltage ie battery issue. Batteries do go dead before their time. If you are a fairly new owner and have not experienced prior issues I would start with a charge/test to see if it is the battery. Hope it is that and NOT a short.

Car does not show any other issues besides that...and it just started a couple of days ago, as I said. I did charge it overnight, but I don't think I am going to chance it, with a trip to San Antonio this afternoon after the game!

I'd get the battery tested at Autozone, etc.

Did that, but because there are no labels, didn't know what the CCA was...I believe the OEM is 700...

Ok I would not leave the radio on when getting gas unless to want to enjoy the river walk while waiting for AAA to arrive. Enjoy the trip.

I had it tested at 700...maybe I should re-test at 770? Will that make a difference?

Ok..tested at 770 CCA, battery failed. Got a new one at WalMart, the Maxx-H6, at $110.86 including tax, battery fee and core charge. Still saved between $25 and $50...
