I'm finally back home. I did not only the throttlebody swap but some other stuff regarding my intake too.

Installation of the throttle body was easy - like described by TVT some posts earlier - no problems at all. I took some pictures and maybe I'll write a short walkthrough within the next days. It took me only about 30min. while beeing really careful. The engine started like nothing happened - no unusual reactions.

I got mine frome eBay - there are several available over here in germany. Usually you guys in the States have all the fun stuff - but for buying used Mercedes parts living in germany is quite an advantage.

I already have the Mercedes V8-Airbox installed - currently with really dirty stock airfilters because I didn't receive the correct K&N's yesterday... Apart from that my engine is stock.

Regarding the difference: There is a slight difference in sound and the throttle response improved a bit. I drove about 10miles on the autobahn and I think there is a little more power on the upper end too. So far I'm happy - especially regarding the effort and costs - although I don't feel the difference as much as others described it here. Maybe I'm just not sensible enough for this car yet - I bought mine just one month ago.

Next projects are larger injectors and ecu tune (maybe both from TVT if there is a way to get everything overseas).

Overseas orders are no problem, and we can even get you the right filters (33-2181). Shipping is only expensive on heavy items, filters, injectors, and tuning equipment are small and light.

Shoot us a PM or email if you want to move forward with an order.

Try resting your throttle position and then give it another test, another post said the same thing that it was not a big difference until the throttle position was reset then it came to life.

Is this true for 2001-2006 S500's? I did some searching and that was the part I found. Your price is about half what they want for those new. I'm ready to buy as soon as ones on your shelf.

The 08 E350 will fit as it is the same as the one on our engine, size and all.

Next time we get one in we'll get the part number, we just never have them in for longer then an hour or so.

The shop that sold me my 74mm Throttle Body listet this part for the following engines/models:

M112 - V6 Engine - 2.6 / 3.2 / 3.7 (build 2000-)
M113 - V8 Engine - 4.3 E43 / 5.0 E50 / 5.4 E55 AMG and SLK 55 AMG (build 2000-)

However - you should recheck the part numbers I posted above

M113 - V8 Engine - 4.3 E43 / 5.0 E50 / 5.4 E55 AMG and SLK 55 AMG (build 2000-) Only late 02 and up will work with the right electronics. All SC TBs have different electronics, so the E55 SC will not work.

However - you should recheck the part numbers I posted above
Also, the newer 350 engines have the same size, 68mm, so save your search from looking there.

Obviously the shop only listed the engines and models on which the trottle body fits - not on which it was used as an OEM-part. Thanks for the clarification.
And it shows again that you should only buy when you know the exact part number of the throttle body and not by engine or model description.

Has anyone tried a 2000 Mercedes S500 74 mm TB Part # A1131410025? It physically looks the same as Mercedes Part # A1131410125 but I'm wondering about the electronic.

You need to swap the electronics on that TB with the ones on your stocker. It's fairly straight forward.

I have a 2000 TB if you want to do the swap. 150.00 and it's yours.

Anthony,
Thanks for the info and offer but I'm going to have to pass on it. I'm already committed on one but I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding a buyer at that price.
Thanks again and see you in Detroit

That's exactly what you have to do. Paypal to info@tvtdesign.com and I'll ship it out ASAP.
