Default What is this Vacuum line for ?

On the back of the engine above the transmission I have a Vac line that isn't attached to anything. It just hangs down touching the top of the transmission. Where should it be connected?

Your photo needs to be larger to make it out. I checked my car for you. There is a rubber vacuum line dropping down from the throttle body area, then connecting to plastic tubing, that I assume goes thru the firewall into the dash area.

OK this should be a larger picture. I am thinking that I bumped a hose when installing the Needs wings intake. Its hard to see anything behind the motor as it is real tight. The picture is from the passenger side looking down. Thanks for looking at this.

If you mean that larger black hose that aims at the trans. filler cap, I believe is a drain for the vent area. So no connection.

Yep that's it.Thanks! The car is going in for some repairs on Wednesday.I wanted everything buttoned up.The stock CAI is back on. The IC pump now has completely stopped working. As soon as it hits temperature its off. I am also going to have the multiple valve cover leaks fixed as well. I bought the car certified so might as well use the warranty. thanks again

You went through a lot of work to bring a car back to stock, when the people working on the car don't know what a stock SRT looks like...

The Needs wings is pretty easy to un-install. Probably took 15 minutes. I hope I get a mechanic at the dealer that at least knows what the car is.You haven't helped my confidence by the way.

ask if they have a certified crossfire mech and you want to talk to him,, tell him the pump is bad,,if he is a a** he will say "we need to diagnosis the problem first,, " and you say this is my 5th srt6 and all of them the pump has failed,, once he knows you know something about the car he will not try any BS on you. jim

you coukld fix the pump as well as the valve cover leaks and know it was done right if you did it yourself.

connects intake manifold vacuum to climate control blend doors, needs to be connected or you will have a vacuum leak.

The other end of the gray vacuum line goes through the firewall under/behind the battery. If you buy 4x6mm polyvinyl tubing, it makes splicing the lines together really easy it slides over the gray line, and makes a pretty good seal (you can use pvc pumping glue to really make it tight).
