Make A Difference Under Your Hood
Here's a fast, inexpensive and easy way to do an upgrade that will get noticed.
You'll need to go to your local WalMart or hobby store and purchase a package of Testors enamel paint markers. I'm not sure if they are sold individually or just in the three pack (black, silver and gold).
Take the black paint marker and carefully paint the tops of the "Crossfire" letters on the top of the induction cover. Do about three to four thin coats for the best results. If you happen to get some on the side, just use a little rubbing alcohol on a rag or Q-Tip to remove it.
It makes a big difference and adds a little style to the solid silver cover.
Enjoy!

BobaFettm - That is the funniest post I have EVER read!!!
I'm so happy to be a part of such a great group of people!!
Sorry if I've confused anyone with this.
Maybe below will help explain along with the pix I'll post this weekend (XFire is under wraps in the garage as it's been raining for the past few days here on the East Coast).
Ever open your hood to show someone the heart of your baby and wonder why the engine cover is not the way it looked in the prototype? Well even though you can't create that look, you can add a little style by basically adding color to the raised "Crossfire" lettering on the top. It just creates a more visually pleasing look.
I come into the XFire venue as a current PT Cruiser owner. The Cruiser has pretty much been a "canvas" for customizing and upgrades. This is just a carryover from something I've done on the Cruiser manifold.
Although I will not get as crazy with the XFire, there are still a few things that can enhance it's already great looks.
I promise, I will post pix!

If you want the prototype look you can get it by buying an air intake box for a 2003 SLK 320.
I had thought about going to one of those guys that does the gold coatings for dealers. That stuff works on plastic too. I know they coated the plastic parts on my '95 T'Bird. It was Green with gold instead of chrome trim. I would like to get the Chrysler logo and the crossfires done.

WMichaels or anybody else can you please email me (maxwellstarsky@msn.com) on your upgrades (K&N, Chip, etc...) where you got them and how much? I just picked up my dark silver xfire and wanted some inexpensive minor upgrades since it is a lease and I plan on getting the srt-6 later or C6.
