Battery Replacement - Interstate MTP-91

Get one now...don't wait til it dies.
Many strange things begin to happen when these old batteries loose voltage.

Be safe not sorry

Totally agree... I just replaced a 3 year old Interstate battery in my Yukon. I didn't want to believe it was the battery because of its relatively young age. Nothing but headaches. If yours is almost 7 years old, just buy another one now.

If you don't, apparently you can look forward to the alarm, spoiler and a host of other electrical items going CRAZY every hour on the hour.

It appears that miles mean little - but YEARS mean a LOT! I got a battery that meets the specs at O'Reilly's for $89 a year ago. It's a LITTLE shorter than the original, I have a piece of heater hose in there as a shim to keep it from moving around.

Mine is a SuperStart 48-72 or 48AGM.

A bad battery can leave you stranded, and the weird thing is, when you turn the key to "start", the engine will turn over and start, then die right away. Does not SEEM like that would be the battery - but it can be! I saw it happen.

Go get a battery!

I have a 2005 with 10,000 warm weather miles on it.

Has anybody tried this one. 28 pounds lighter.

Shuriken Light Weight Battery Kit

Best,

Mike

My story:
'05 SRT6 with 34k south FL miles. Original battery died while car was locked (alarm activated).
When the battery dies and you are forced to manually open the car, the alarm will sound. Short of it is I bought another battery from dealer in Plantation, FL and installed. I had to pull the fuse for the alarm as the alarm will WAIL nonstop.

All in all a pain in the ****. You are better advised to replace ahead of time. The parts lady told me the Chrysler batteries are Interstate, FYI.

Ive an odyessy PC1200, small, sealed, and excellent quality but a little on the heavy side 38lbs. I worked at Enersys in Mo., where we made diehard, odessy, stingers, Tank batteries, Aircraft batteries telecommunication batteries etc. Let me tell ya, when yours decides to go you most likely wont get much of any warning. your at 7 years now on yours (car's actual build date?) thats about the expected lifespan of high quality battery.

Id go with interstate ASAP

BTW, my 04 still works and holds a charge too, just didnt want to get stranded somewhere

Best,

both my cars have those batteries, but I had to add a battery maintainer 'cause I don't drive them enough.....they will run down in 3-4 weeks of just sitting....
