Default Transmission oil leak

I notice a "new" puddle of red fluid on my garage floor from under the middle (approximately) of the car. It might be transmission fluid?? We are talking drops not spoonfulls. Anyone with experience or suggestions??

Just had my transmission connector fixed. Common problem. Poor design. If it's just a few drips, it still won't be long before it's a big leak. Lot's of info (and recent info) on this issue. While it may be a simple fix -- it will only be simple if the connector cooperates and comes out so you can install the new one. Mine, and others, didn't. The internal connector screw gets stripped and then you have to drop the pan (messy and more complicated) and if you are really unlucky, you'll have to break the valve body connector and replace that too. The tranny connector is only about $15. The valve body connector is about $600. I ended up having to take mine in an have the entire valve body changed out. Lucky for me it was still under warrranty -- otherwise it would have been about $1800 to have it done at the dealer.

Good luck with yours. If it's just the tranny connector it would probably be about an $80-$100 fix at the dealer --- by if you DIY, about $20 (connector and some fluid.)

There's a compatability selection option on that page. I put in the Crossfire and it says the part isn't compatable. It could be wrong --- but I'd also say it doesn't look like the parts I saw that went into my vehicle.

Try 2004 Mercedes SLK 32 or 2001 SLK 320. I googled the part # and came up with this: http://www.pointedthree.com/disc/for....php?tid=15290
Conductor plate for 722.6 tranny , yes I believe it's the same as NAG1 tranny

Thanks to ya'll, the little roadster no longer leaks at the transmission. The service manager at our local Chrysler dealership said "so you think you know what is leaking and no-one has even looked at it yet"?? He was amazed to report that "your" fix was exactly right...replace the connector and O rings. They had parts in stock, in/out in several hours and total cost was $168.00. Thanks to everyone that provided the repair information and even the part numbers!!! gasanders
