CEL - Check Engine Light
CPS will give a code
Don't rule out the fuel filter/pump. Fuel may have drained back into the tank and car finally ran once fuel was pumped back up to the engine.
Let us know if it happens again.

Went to start the car, it started & shut right down, it did that a couple of times, then i had nothing, like the battery was dead, i took the positive cable off & touched it back on the battery & got no spark, did that a couple of times & finally got a spark, then it would turn over & run. It ran good all the way home ( 25 miles ) Backed in the garage, shut it down, went to start it again, it started up but shut down, tried the second time, it started & kept running. I don't get it ? Any help.

Had problem similar to this on Friday. Car cranked, wouldn't start. Finally got it started and drove 25 miles home. CEL came on. Knew it was the CPS. Brought it to the dealer on Monday, got it back yesterday. Was the CPS, they replaced under extended warranty. Car has just under 70,000 miles on it. Had 2011 Jeep Wrangler with only 560 miles as my loaner for the three days they had my car.

Got in the car to day, it turned over & started & shut right down, the second try it started up & stayed running. It will run fine with no problems, till you shut it off, & try to restart it again, then it's the same problem. Some times when i try to start it, it will have nothing, like the battery is dead, then what i have to do is disconnect the battery cable, & keep touching it on the termanal untill i get a good spark, the it will start, & keep running, like it resets a relay or something.
I'm telling you it's driving me NUTS. Any ideas ?? Thanks 4 getting back with any help. Ron.
