Default performance chips

Has anyone added a performance chip to increase hp and gas mileage? Im being tempted by the Gforce ads on our forum. Do these really work and are they easy to install?

NO ! NO! NO!
( did I say no ? )

If you read through the threads on this forum, you will find that currently the EuroCharged tune is the only way to go.
A LOT more expensive, but it beats throwing money away on a wonder chip and possibly frying your engine .......

Basically all you will do is run the engine rich.. or run the engine lean.. my wife bought me one when I first got my car.. I was just looking around for performance and mention the "chip".. well surprise look what I got you.. LOL. My super duper chip has a rotary **** to adjust performance or economy .. I read up on them and decided no thank you... "If" I had the dashdaq or other system to monitor the AFR "maybe".. but probably not.

As I suspected. It seemed too good to be true. I'm new to the crossfire and to this forum. Really appreciate the input from everyone. I must admit, reading all the different threads I get worried what and when is going to go wrong with my 2006 Roadster Limited. I love this car and have been having a blast driving it.

One other concern, when I put the top down, the top's rear pin makes an awful pop when it releases. Is that normal?

Yes, that is normal. Mine has always popped pretty loud also, prompting me to apply some lithium grease - made no difference .....

?
Check your RCM solder joints.. carry a spare cps and the tools to replace and carry on enjoying the car! You have people here because they love this car.. you have people here because a problem arose and looking for information to fix. And God knows how many out there that haven't had problems and never searched out this forum.

This forum is filled with problems, because we are partly like the doctors office. You do not go to the doctor office and make an estimate on the number of people sick at any given time, if you did you would have to conclude that all the people were sick. All cars have problems of some sort, I have had two Crossfires over the last 7 years and the total cost of repairs has been $1.00 (plus tax) and I only needed one of the ten parts I got for that dollar. I have spent money but that was service and toys for the car and I must admit once spending money trying to solve a problem that did not exist.

Finally I must admit to having a chip in my car, it fell from my hand and went down between the seat and the console. I cannot get at it. It was my favorite kind too, vinegar and onions.

I, for one, could not live with that, I'd have to take the seat out ....

( and think of all the other treasures you might find !!!! )
