Default How to remove the trim and carpet around the BULKHEAD

I would like to get to the metal backing on the backside (trunk side) of the bulkhead so that I can thru bolt something...

I have copy of service manual CD. but it doesn't show the removal of trim in this area. Anyone can write or describe the procedure? Pics would help too.

Thanks,

Thanks,
Adam has some pics on his web site (http://www.dfwsbr.com/crossfire/). I thought he'd done a VFAQ or other such document about how to remove the truck and bulkhead trim/carpeting, but can't find it now??? Maybe it was somebody else (try searching the Mods section for posts about stereo system upgrades)???

I've had most of that out. The two mysterious looking ***** at the back of the "wall" where the gas tank is are threaded - they'll unscrew with some help from pliers. The buttons on the side panels can be easily removed with an upholstery tool from an auto parts store. The center pops out like a plunger then the body can be pulled out.

Remember there's a gas tank in there so drill lightly.

I removed the rear interior "carpeted" panels to replace the OEM shocks with Koni Sport Dampers... It was very easy, if this is the part you are discussing... will explain if this is the area you need to remove...

Landho: If you take a look at the the carpeted cargo area there are a numer of black plastic "Grommets" or "Tabs" that have a surrounding plastic washer... The center part of the "Grommet" is just a ridged "Push Pin" that fits inside the surrounding plastic holder "Washer"... There is a tool that most mechaics have that looks like a two pronged fork that you can work under the "Grommet" and slowly pull back to remove it... Be sure the tool is under the tab of the "Grommet" not the surrounding housing... Pop each grommet carefully and the surrounding holder wil remain with the carpeted cargo area piece... then the peices will just slide out so you can get to the area you are working on...

Hope this helps...

What are the top 3 traits or skills every carpet cleaning technician must have to excel?

Can you suggest any tips or insights to develop your carpet cleaning technician expertise?
