Flywheel Specs
So my pressure plate took a dump as my car sat in a parkinglot while I was at my kids rugby match on Saturday.
The clutch still sort of worked so I was able to limp thecar home, pulled the transmission and there it was a bad pressure plate.
Pulled the plate and clutch out and there I find a very oddflywheel.
Yes I have since learned what I can about this “wonderful”DMF but I can’t seem to find any specs for it.
My understanding is I need to check Rotational free play, and Rockbut the only spec I found in the repair manual is .003” of runout which is notwhat I’m looking for.
Does anyone know what the specs are or where I might findthem?
I don’t’ mind spending $1100 on a flywheel but to be honestwith you there are a few other parts I would prefer to spend that money on if Idon’t need a flywheel.

Not sure on specs but our flywheels are quite hefty. The pressure plate, not so much. What makes you think the flywheel is bad? Just checking to make sure or...

I’ve got 90k miles on it so I would not be surprised it if were out of spec but while this is an easy clutch to do I would rather not do it twice and I would hate to spend the $400 on the clutch kit and then have the flywheel come apart and have to buy another one.

Thanks for the info and ideas.
180 I did review that before I started to pull the trany and I will tell you that step 17 was extremely helpful, as it says that step is not in the manual and it is not easy to see that pin fron under the trans. That did save me some time for sure.
I will contact Mr Mopar if I do find out that my flywheel is out of spec.
As I continued my search I was able to find something. LUK makes a tool andspec sheet for DMF, in the LUK catalog they only list a clutch for our cars but they do list a DMF for the Mercedes.
The spec for the 01-04 SLK320 DMF is 17° or 7 teeth for Rotational freeplay, and 2.9mm maximum Rock
I’m not a Crossfire to Mercedes expert but does anyone think those specsshould not also be valid for our cars?
