Default P0500 - Need advice on fixing.

Hey guys,

Been searching the forums for days now trying to figure out a solution to my check engine light

My symptoms.

-P0500 problem code
-speedometer randomly malfunctions
-spoiler stuck in raised position with light flashing.

Through my searches I have found posters with similar problems but they usually had a esp/abs light on also. I haven't been able to find a thread mentioning a P0500 trouble code besides it place in the service manual and it's definition. Never a solution.

What are your guys thoughts and suggestions.

Thanks in advance!

Spoiler light flashing makes me think it could be the battery. The electronics in the Crossfire are very pickey and start to act up if it doesn't have a good source.

Look at service manual starting page 9-410.

I had found this also. All it showed was a wire diagram going from the abs module to the powertrain module, I believe. Wasn't quite sure what to make of it to he honest with you.

Update: driving home from work and speedometer and wing are working correctly. Also noticed over the past couple days the if I shut off the car while driving then restart it when the speedometer is not working it will begin working.

wing must work off the speed sensor....I have SRT's so I am not familiar with it, but would be my guess. That sensor or a wire to the sensor may have voltage problem throwing the code, and causing the problem. Check your connections all the way up to the fuse box...corrosion could be the problem. At least that is an easy start to look at first...

From what I was reading wouldn't a wheel speed sensor throw an abs/esp code too? I'm still going to check though.
