Amazing. I see this on a lot of forums. Some newbie asks a question and he gets jumped on and told to use the search function. Is this just an archive site? No. It's a site to exchange ideas fixes info expertise. Nowhere does it say questions can't be asked us the search function instead. Of course i search. Of course questions get repeated. After a few thousands posts and the replies to them darn near everything there is to know about a Crossfire has hit the boards. I asked a question. I didn't ask if someone thinks i should find all i need to know via a search. Just for starters the search function doesn't work well. I get better results using google that directs me to posts in this site. So if someone with crossfire expertise would like to render an opinion on which parts/brand would be best for me to use please respond. Anyone that thinks i should use search for my answers move on and ignore my post.

Would you like to be the official "new post" monitor of the forum? Maybe no one would have to wait more than 30 minutes for an answer that way too.
Just an opportunity for you to contribute to the forum..

Sorry, I gave you a link to the Owners manual, I gave you a link where you could buy it from, I gave you a link that tells you the oil to use, how much to use and when to change it. Someone else told you a link to a post with common problems and solutions.
It is much better for you to read those posts rather than a list.
The filters are easily found, I doubt you need a gas filter yet. Type oil filter in the Google search and all will be revealed.
All these questions have been asked and answered many times before.
Coming on here and complaining will not get you any better responses, so search and then ask for any answers you still require at that point.
The Google search at the top of the page is very good.

Oil is an easy one. Most here use Mobile 1 0W40 as recommended. Other fluids (brake, power steering, coolant, etc. are spec'd but are made by a few companies or just go with MB products.
Everything after that is optional. If you read through the post you'll find that very few people use stock or breaks pads, rotors, tires, etc. It's all going to be up to what you want and what you're willing to spend.

Yep..what he said..
A lot of the answers you seek are relative to your "personal preference". Use ONLY 100% Synthetic Oil. Brand names are a personal preference. Mobil 1..Pensoil...Valvoline..as long as you stick to the same brand each time you change your oil. Since this is a Mecedes in Chrysler clothing, you may opt to use only MB recommended parts and products and a reliable source.
This forum is a great source of information and advice. Be patient with us "ol timers". Its just we've answered these same questions so many times over and over and over again, it get nerve wrecking. A lot of times performing a "search" will get your questions answered faster than waiting for one of us to chime in, find your post amongs thousands of others, and reply in kind.

Thanks for the list. I now know to not go buy just any filer that will fit.
Wax on wax off wax on wax off!!!
Yup, Fleece filters are available at Autozone and Advanced as well as NAPA. Just look them over, Fleece is a WHITE substance, the paper filters are kinda brown.
Synthetic oil only - click here: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...oved-oils.html
But you really have to read a lot here, there is a WONDERFUL amount of information here. Some night when you can't sleep, or when you are bored, start reading in the engine and technical areas of the forums. There is SO much to learn about these cars, things that you will remember someday when it acts up and knowing what you will then know, you will save a LOT of money.
And you can save a lot of frustration, too. Like the "sticky key" thing - you HAVE fixed that, right? No?

Want one of us to come service it for you too? LOL....nope, not jumped on yet....you will know it when that happens....for sure. We could open a whole discussion on what brand of anything you could use, as everyone has an opinion. Fluids for power steering, anti freeze and such are specific. Not just anything will work. MB is a good start for these fluids. Synthetic oil is a must. Most do use Mobil 1. And the list goes on.
