Default Central Locking (potential problem)

Hi guys,

I've found a lot of posts on this subject but wonder if anyone has had this specific problem?

I've had the Crossfire for a few weeks. The central locking works fine but here's what's happening:

When I unlock with the remote, everything opens fine (drivers door first press, other locks second press). However, the Central Locking pump continues to whir for a further 20 seconds or so.

When I lock the door, everything locks except for the fuel filler flap. The pump continues to whir for about 20 seconds then just before it stop, the lock snaps shut on the fuel door.

The dealer I purchased the car from has arranged for a diagnostics specialist to look at it but I wonder if there are any specific pointers I should give them? e.g. I was wondering it the delay with locking the filler door is a sign of a leak from that particular hose?

Cheers

I would suspect a leak SOMEWHERE. I am unsure if there are sensors on the locks or not, that would tell the pump when "all is ok". I am 700 miles from my printed copy of the service manual - but you know you can download the manual from the forum and investigate this on your own.

Problems such as this are rare - it's not an item that I, for one, am up to speed on, so I have no quick answer but 100/80 or others might.

I would suspect a leak somewhere in the filler cap system.
A positive pressure or vacuum has to be achieved which will then shut the pump off automatically.
From the manual;
The door lock actuators are pressurized. When a pressure threshold is reached in the system, the pump is switched off by an internal pressure switch.
It goes on to say the same principal is applied when unlocking.

Ok, so there IS a sensor, but not in every lock, just in the pump.

Actually, I knew there was no sensor in the Roadster's console lock, now that I think about it....
