Default Can low transmission fluid cause check engine to light up?

In October i parked my Crossfire in a garage for the winter and a couple of weeks ago I went out to check on it and saw quite a lot of oil under the car, and today I drove it to a friend who's a mechanic to see where it came from. It came from the right side of the pan under the transmission.
Anyways, on my way home the check engine light came on, could it be because of low transmission fluid?

Need to know the stored error code to tell why the light came on. Most FLAPS or your dealer can help if you can't.

I have an obd cable myself but no software for it. Could you recommend one that works well and I will check for error codes tomorrow?

Most auto parts stores offer the scan service free of charge. Check with your local auto parts stores.

"obd cable" what do you mean by that ? One with a USB connector ? If so the software at Welcome to www.moates.net! : Moates.Net will work on a PC or might look into TouchScan. (on sale now - I have and does what I need.).

I prefer to use a Bluetooth dongle ($11 from Amazon for the "mini") and either an Android tab or my Smart Phone and the Torque Pro app ($5 from the Google play store) or the above TouchScan for a PC.

ps can download a trial version of Touchscan and see if it works.

Yea, if you didn't resolder ALL the suspect pins!

I doubt that you caused the problem by fixing the other problem. I had the p0410 code a few times last year and I have done nothing to trouble shoot it and I havent gotten the code again for a while.

I think it's just a design flaw.

That sounds promising, I reset the error code now and I'll wait and see if it comes back before I try and get it repaired. But for now it will stay in the garage until they stop putting salt on the roads

Thanks for the replies!

In any event, it's not a big deal. It will cause you to not pass an emissions check, but that's it.

Experience has shown that if you have one cracked joint on a board, there are others. It is just common with the RCB.

It is clearly possible that by flexing board you introduced another cracked joint. You HAD to have flexed the board taking it out and putting it back in.

Oddly enough, back in the 70's, Motorola build a radio called the "Micor". It was a real step forward, and featured easily-replaceable boards and a easily configurable control head comprised of one or more additional boards. But they missed a few details, the head boards and internal control boards has this weird "thru hole rivet" design that caused bad solder connections to be VERY frequent. It was the only time in 30 years where, if I had to find a bad joint on the board (after finding and fixing the bad one) I'd go thru almost the entire board and reheat and reflow every point.

The RCB in our cars is not THAT bad, but still, when I did mine, I hit every joint on the board.

Ok........... Done editing. YOu can read my post now.

I did check the other joints but just briefly, but now after your reply I'm gonna go out tomorrow and check the other joints and see if there are any bad ones!
Thanks again

There's an electrical plug on the front right side of the transmission that often leaks on early CF autos.
