I was referring to the trap door on the back of the assy. I had time, just finished actually; for what it's worth my 04 DID have a spring and pin; past tense; I removed them sh1tz and we are all back together now. 1.5 hour estimate was spot on as I stopped for fedex and usps delivery and finished right about 80mins. that damn black connector under the assy is a pain; couldn't figure if it slid fwd/back/down; fyi its back towards driver! Anyway, awesome writeup. If this pin removal is what precludes ign from sticking my wife should be GTG! thanks to all on the forum.

^^^ I had the same hangup with that stooopid black connector the first time I did this.

Hate it when that happens..

I think it's only on the drivers door and never the ignition.

DING DING DING... Travel trailer! Was wrestling which key and lock to get in it the other day! Knew that little door was etched in my mind for a reason! LOL.
