TPMS problem
Hey Everyone,
I just had my tires & sensors replaced in my 2004 coupe, the sensors were original, 3 out of 4 were not reading anymore per tire shop-here's my problem they installed 4 new sensors and now tell me that the computer isn't reading any of them but they are transmitting(showed my on wireless handheld), Does anybody know what might have happened during tire change to make the computer stop reading sensors?? Could the tire guys not have program something correctly

315 AND 433 mhz If memory serves is the frquencies.. and they have to be transmitting with the same ID as the OEM.. or it's a trip to the dealer. I got a "free" set to test.. cost me $35 for the dealer to tell me car speaks German.. sensors are in Japanese.. (simplistic no-go version).. LOL.
Ugh, thanks for info-I am passing this on to tire guys tomorrow & see if they can fix or if it's to the dealer I go ( I was hoping for a simple fix--not this time I think, LoL)
Have new question on TPMS-
Tire guy is telling me that the computer isn't reading new sensors because of the BCM-everything matches--frequency, id & language. Has this every been a problem with anyone? There is no other issue with my car other than that dreaded P0410 code I'm trying to locate & correct. Any advice would be great as the mechanic's look at me and think I'm nuts (y'all know the type--the ones that think a woman isn't supposed to know about such things, Lol)

Oh I forgot one other thing--the reason the tire guy is telling me it's the BCM is because the check engine light is on & I did explain to him it was the P0410 code & he even checked system with his computer & was only able to pull up that code but still blamed it on the BCM.

If they do not know what's wrong they fall back on the one thing they do well , lie.
I was just sticking to what I actually "know" by experience.. but have to agree here. If the tire shops could access our cars systems.. why would we be going to the dealer for programming on them.. Seems there have been a few with successful TPMS replacements, but they haven't gone into a "full" detail .. who, what brand etc. My Chrysler dealer did quote me a price of about $450 when my freebies didn't pan out. I find the orange makes a nice night light while driving in the dark.. LOL
I have been doing a little bit of research on the sensors and compatibility & I have a question--should the sensors also be compatible to the SLK ??
And I agree MrMiata the orange glow does make for a nice night light, LOL

I'm cheap, I just disconected the damn TPMS using the fix thread here https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ng-system.html I just check the pressure manually when I fill up or take a long trip like I have for the last 40 years.
