I don't see why all the debating. I have only 1 1/4 run and 1 dyno pull and threw the slips away. I don't care how fast it is in 1/4 run, it's not real world performance. I enjoy the building and like Franc said, my butt meter is all that matters. As an older and somewhat experienced car guy, my butt is pretty educated and I don't care if 2 different dynos give greatly varying numbers. I do know that you can take 2 identical engines, do the same mods and get differing numbers, each may respond differently. So, saying this, enjoy the building of YOUR car and if you are happy, is it really necessary to prove to the world with numbers what you have accomplished?

I don't think it's the max if you wanted to do a tune with one of the big name tuners on a Dyno. They would find some more horsepower..maybe, probably, possibly, just what I think.

True that.

But to Jim's point.... the hardware, many can do themselves and then have a tuner work on it.

There's always more to be found in a tune. Unfortunately, or fortunately, we're limited. The local GTR's run around with several tunes. 91 octane, 93 octane, 104 octane, 116 octane. They even have the tuner at the 1/4 and 1/2 mile events doing adjustments based on the prior run to get all their is with the atmospheric conditions. So, we have long distance or safe tunes that won't blow the engine unless we lie to the tuner. As far as the ultimate numbers they're just numbers. Who cares who has the most powerful car? I care more about who can get the most out of what they have and it's never the car with the most power. So IMO it's better to run your car then your noise maker.

I was trying to find out what is the truth in what has been claimed by some members, and what can be actually achieved. We have one NA car with the lowest stock dyno figures which is then claimed to be one of two cars in the 13's but no slip to back it up. This car is then said to be approaching 300 hp.

Smoke and mirrors seems to be the order of the day.

New members should be able to see what they can expect without all the posturing by some. Just saying it does not matter does not sound right when that same person has made specific claims.

New members are seeing the usual bullshit. If they want to know anything they will talk to those doing the performance mods. Not the bullshitters... $$$$ is what counts in doing the right mods. You can talk **** all you want, but you have pony up the $$$$ to find "performance" and numbers aren't performance. Quarter mile runs can give you some sense of how fast your car is compared to others. But the HP numbers will vary as much as 30 hp. Most will be in the 370 HP at the wheels with most of the common mods. So, many will claim over 400 HP at the crank. Maybe, maybe not. Dynos are good to max out a tune if all, and I mean "ALL" the parameters are being monitored. Most don't. Tunes all vary as well. Do you want to push the limits to the point of lien, or do you stay in a safe parameter? I would think you can max out the HP on an N/A with larger injectors, more fuel thru a larger TB, CAI, and the right tuner. I think 300 HP might be pushing it, but maybe not and that would be crank HP, not wheel HP. You can point fingers and start the bullshit all you want, but most car guys know their cars and know where they are with their mods, and most will brag a little. It is a car forum, and and it is expected and accepted...get the hell over it....***** ***** *****...get a life....

Used to be a company named EvoSport that sold them, but no longer.
Latemodel21 might be able to turn out a set for you, contact him.

No argument there. It would be good if we could get some comparative numbers, different tunes, pulleys, single and stacked, different intakes all done on the same dyno. They wouldn't necessarily by the most accurate but at least we could see approximately what the mods are accomplishing. I'd like to see if there is much difference between the Inmotion tune( what I have) and the EC. Also the differences in a 181 pulley and my stacked set up but I'm not going to buy another OEM sc pulley to find out. In the end, we all have nice cars that we can enjoy and maybe even brag a little about.

I am after what you want, and doc is having a go at me for coming down on BS. He's all for people telling lies about their car from what I see. I can put up posts where people have bragged about their car and then admitted it was all BS a few posts later when they were called out on their claims.

Show us the paper to prove what you are saying. Newbies need to see what is possible and not see BS and expect to get those inflated results.

Your right..enough of the BS. I posted my Dyno slip that show I get 300 HP to the crank.
