Can I replace the spoiler button with a toggle switch?
For aesthetic reasons, I want to disable the spoiler switch in my crossfire coupé 04. Then I want to reroute the wiring to a new switch closer to the driver. This is what I want the new switch to look like:

*I'm thinking of placing it under my ignition switch.*
My concerns is because the stock switch is a push and hold type this may not work.
But by changing to a toggle switch I may be able to stop the push and hold setup, and have the spoiler react fine when the switch is toggled. I'm going to guess this will work fine, but being toggled that means the motor is always on, right? Could this hurt the car? And is it even possible? Has anyone else tried or done it?

Switching the spoiler is not in the conventional way. The switch does nothing more than sends a signal to the BCM. See the attachment.
Sending full voltage back to the BCM signals it go in one direction. Sending reduced voltage back to the BCM signals it to go in the opposite direction.

I am not going to say either way. I don't quite understand what you are trying do or how you plan to wire it. Maybe someone else can help out here.

I don't understand how disabling the "manual" spoiler switch is an aesthetic reason. The switch will still be there. The schematic shows the existing switch has a resistor inside it to vary the voltage to the Body Control Module. No other aftermarket switch is going to work unless you know the value of that resistor and add it to the new switch. In addition, the new switch would also have to be "momentary contact" like the original.
