Is the top taking 30 seconds to go down completely from the point were you have unlatched, raised the front, then press the top down switch ?
( not sure I understand what is happening )

Just guessing, I'd say maybe a problem with the pump building up pressure.
See any hydraulic fluid leaks around any of the 5 cylinders ?
Check the fluid level in the pump reservoir .

How long between when you first push the 'down' switch and you hear the beep ?

Hi thanks for replying. well i hear the beep soon as i push down the switch. but then i have to wait 30seconds after i push down the switch. After 30seconds is up i hold the switch down until the top is down. If it dont go down right then i hear a beep noise. so i turn off the car an start over

This sounds like you just push and let go after it beeps.. then have to wait 30 seconds and push and hold it. You realize you push and hold down till top is in place and beeps to "let go".. right?

Unless a prior owner installed the "one touch" top mod.

I have this same problem on my 05. Sometimes the top goes down on the first button push sometimes not. But I put the top down a lot in warmer weather and can cycle it two or three times a day. I've learned to live with it.
