Default Speed Warning Chime at 75 mph

Gang:
My 2006 SRT-6 has started to produce a warning chime (same buzzer sound used for seatbelt warning) whenever I hit 75mph or greater. The warning will continue to chime as long as I stay above that speed, but will stop once I go 74mph or slower. I have searched throughout this forum as well as other sites, but to no avail. Disabling the seatbelt warning chime does not eliminate the 75mph or greater speed chime. Also, there is no correlation if a passenger is present/seated or not (if anyone was thinking if it could be an passenger airbag warning chime if there is one). Any thoughts?? Thanks!!

There is a post that says that the chime can be set at this speed to warn you that you have exceeded this speed. It says it must be reset at the dealer, I do not know if this is true.
I think that there have been posts that say this is a speed sensor problem and the cruise control will cut out if it is being used.
Other than that I have no idea, sorry.

Problem has been solved. Took the Crossfire to my dealer today and they reset the PCM. Apparently, they can set the speed to alert the chime to go off. Glad it's finally fixed. This all started when they had to reset the module a few weeks ago for my new TPMS's but apparently missed a step in the process.

No need to thank me, just send money.

Or didn't miss a step? I have no idea how they program the TPMS calibration, but wonder why a 'speed' alarm would be part of the train of commands to set a TPMS system up. I would appreciate anyone who knows the TPMS calibration procedure (with the system in a stealership) would chime in to clear this setup for me?

.

Your beeping over 75 mph is usually accidently turned on after your car is in for service & had a DRBIII hooked into the system. It falls under the (customer preference) portion of the DRBIII & is either on or turned off by the tech. Theres no speed choice avail. other than on at 75 mph or not on at all. The only way to remove your beep is to have a DRBIII hooked up again & the choice turned off. Simple procedure but costly if you have to take it to someone who has this tool. We live in diff. parts of the country or I would be glad to turn it off for you. Hope this helps.

Thanks Dave, my clarification is- Is setting/ignoring this step part of the TPMS reset, or is it in another 'ladder' of the hookup/setup of the testing equipment. In other words, would a tech have to answer or ignore this alarm during the TPMS setup/calibration. Inquiring minds like to know things like this.

I have the DRBIII Crossfire Diagnostics Technicians Guide for the Crossfire specific memory card and I cannot find it mentioned in it. Maybe it is a program in the scan tool itself and common to other cars.
