Default Can I disable the automatic raise on the rear spoiler

Does anyone know if I can and how to disable the automatic raise on the rear spoiler but manually operate it with the switch as I have added a rear spoiler and it raises too far.

Max thinks that the additional spoiler added by the OP would encourage others to deface their cars. I tend to agree with him.
Mind you a picture of the car with a Dukes of Hazard spoiler would be a laugh.
There is no accounting for taste.

If you want to change how far it goes up, the answer is the upper limit switch - simply modify the mechanical arrangement such that the upper limit switch closes when you want it to.

To disable it entirely is easy, just yank the wiring off the motor - but if you want to make the whole thing MANUAL, it would mean major changes, the operation of the spoiler is coded into the BCM.

The service manual is your friend here- download it from this site and go to "wiring" then to "power rear spoiler" and you will see what you have.

Actually its a crossfire spoiler and NOT an aftermarket pile of poo. and yes i agree that a dukes of hazard type spoiler would spoil the look of the car. But saying that everybody is entitled to enjoy their car the way they wish.

When you said spoiler every one thought the worst, you should always be clear on your description or you will get the wrong answers.
By Xfire spoiler you mean an SRT6 one, if you use the mounting plate it came from it is a simple bolt on. You must make sure that no water leaks into the trunk at the mounting points or you will ruin the security pump and have to spend more bucks to fix it.
Where abouts in Essex do you live?

Max I live in Chigwell. i have managed to mount it on the original spoiler flap and is totally waterproof but need it to be manually operated as when it automatically raises it acts as an air brake. I cannot locate a mounting plate but if anyone has one I would be interested.

Absolutely.

I do hope you understand my...concern?

After all of the Godawful images I've seen in the news over the past 3 months (politics), I just couldn't take much more.

Yea, but now I am confused. I guess a photo is needed.
If you have an SRT wing on there, it's time to just yank the fuse for the motor.

Won't it "Beep" at 60 mph?

I hate beeps, because it indicates something is very wrong or broken (which means very wrong anyway).

~ you can simply pull the fuse.

that's what i did and it only beeps in the car at 90 mph and above for intended aid of down force. i ran my car like this for 4 years without any issues.

personally i never liked the looks of the wing in the up position. looks like ones trying too hard & i prefer a cleaner look.

James1549 has the SRT-6 spoiler mounted on a Limited Coupe. Probably a good resource to talk to about what you're trying to do.
