Have you had the battery tested, even new batteries can die prematurely.
Also check battery connections and grounding of it.
Do you hear any sound when you turn the key?
The wing getting deployed is normally a sign of low voltage in the system.

Try a jump, may lead to bad connection at the battery.

I have not had the batery tested, also the car makes a low whining/screeching sound (best I can describe it) when I turn the ignition key.

I will get the battery tested and look at the connections.

Thanks for you help

I bought a new battery 1st of September and was dead 1st of December! Went straight back and got a replacement. Haven't had any problems since. Make sure they don't talk you into "charging" your existing battery, get a new one, it's covered under warranty. Good luck

So is the starter engaging, actually turning the engine over? Starter clicking at all?

If your battery checks out or you replace it and it's still doing the same thing maybe the starter gears not engaging the flywheel? Might be a bad solenoid that's not able to push the starter gear out far enough? Just a guess here.

We may never hear from him again until he needs help but at least he said thanks in both of his posts.
Most everyone else who asks for help in their first post never say please or thanks. Maybe we should ignore them.
We may never learn of the cause for his problem and that is why feedback is so I important.

...I want to thank the knowledgeable responders on behalf of those who fail to show appreciation to the many responses for the many issues that we incur with our Crossfires....and with that said, I could use some help on a "No Start" issue that has popped up with the "rescue srt".
...Noticing for the last few days slower than usual cranking ... last night upon attempting to start..when the starter engaged, I only got a bump sound but no actual cranking. My first thoughts were a weak battery and shes testing at 12.8. A five (5) amp fuse for the Central Control Unit keeps blowing... Central Control Unit as referenced by the fuse map. I'll start with a new battery. I haven't replaced it and I also know that the alarm batteries are in need of replacing. The locking system seems to work fine...new FOB batteries as well....Could the starter solenoid have stuck and is pulling the load that I am seeing when hooking up the battery? Thanks in advance and I hope I haven't hijacked this thread.

New battery ? just take one out of your other two and try that.
Kinda sounds like a compound issue to me. Maybe battery and CPS ?

12.8 v with engine off sounds OK, but doesn't really mean much without a load.
When running, it should measure 13.8 to 14.2 volts.

Battery sounds weak but that measurement sounds good. As George said, the voltage while engaging the starter would tell us a LOT more. I'd say battery or a lousy connection between starter and battery - how's the ground cable at the battery look? I've seen the lug on the chassis end go all to hell - don't clean it, go get a new one at a parts store.

NO idea what fuse you refer to. The position number in the fuse box would help a lot here. The terminology and labels are not completely consistent between service manual, owner's manual and the labels on the fuse boxes; which makes this harder than it should be.

In the UK the car year is called the same year that it is first registered, it could be a 2004 model year here in NA but if it was registered this year in the UK it would be called a 2017 or an alphabetical year registration. I am not too clear on it myself but you get the drift.

So is it just slower and slower cranking then starting or no starting at all?

I have had batteries that tested good with voltage a cranking amps with tester, but when a load was put on battery, it would fall flat.
I would pull a comparable battery from another vechicle that you know is good and try that, if still no, then go through connections.
And since you are changing batteries, let sit unhooked for 15 minutes for reset, before hooking back up.
Is there corrosion on or around the terminals?
Has there ever been?
The acid could be coordinate g in the wires.

We jacked up the car on one side to get to the starter which set off the barely audible alarm telling me that the siren alarm batteries hadn't corroded onto the circuit board yet like the one in the black srt., ..and tapped on the starter which resulted in a click..(probably the solenoid resetting) , then turned the key and it cranked and ran..upon which I shut it off and never got it to turn over again. We pushed it into the garage and I ordered a starter for it. The new battery will go into the Roadster that I never drive as it needed a new battery anyway. As for the 5 amp fuse that keeps blowing, that'll be a future issue to tackle. Looks like when my starter gets here, my "NO CRANK" issue will be under control...Thanks again for the input 'yall....Peace

Hi, just curious if you managed to fix your starting issue and blown fuse?
I went to take my car out for the first time this spring and had a similar issue. It started fine about a month ago but when I went to start it today the starter clicked when I turned the key but didn't crank over. And then I also noticed that the dome lights were out.. Looked into the fuse box and noticed fuse 7 blown. 5 amp fuse. Put a new one in, tried starting again and still just got a click but the fuse didn't blow.. Figured perhaps the battery was low. Put on the battery tender. Will try again later today or tomorrow and see what happens then.

I do not think a 'battery tender' has enough charging current to fully charge your battery. In fact, the two tenders I have caution not to try to charge a low discharged battery.

Battery tender showed battery was fully charged this morning so I guess it worked out ok with that. Sat in the car, turned the key and started right away.. So I guess it was only the battery. Guess I will just have to keep an eye on it to see if the battery loses its charge over short period of time.. Tine will tell
