High rpm idle
https://youtu.be/zN8IlBOcc-U
been having this issue for weeks. I'll start the car, let it warm up and then I'll shut off...I then tap the gas pedal and let go and it holds like I'm still on it. Any help would be great. Recent work done before this issue was replaced water pump belt tensioner and idler pulley and also egr valve along with the rcm resolder. I replaced the egr thinking it was that causing the issue. Then had the rcm resolder by DJ Tighe thinking it would solve the problem, but no. Please please please please any ideas?

Good question, people tend not to answer posts that are not at all clear. It's tough to answer questions that are not clear.
if it's fly-by-wire then why would the pedal stay down when it stalls🤔. Inquiring minds need to know 😉 feedback from the throttle body Maybe?

unless I am misreading, I don't think the pedal stays down, but rather the rpms stay up when the pedal is released as it is spring loaded to un-depress. there is nothing mechanical/electrical that would hold the pedal depressed
I hit the pedal and let go, the rpms still stay but I'm not on the pedal anymore. I posted a link for the video to help understand.
🤔 I don't know' the Op said I start the car let it warm up then" I'll shut it off" and then tap the gas pedal and "it stays down "as if I'm still pressing it. According to what the Op wrote, sounds like it's not running. I don't know maybe they just didn't use the right phrase.

Now I understand when you said shut off you did not mean turn the engine off you meant let up off the accelerator pedal 👍 I got your meaning now
Sorry, actually trying to describe this in written form is complicated. When I first crank it up, it'll idle fine. I can hit the gas pedal and it'll rev then drop back to normal idle. Now I shut the car off and turn it back on to make sure I dont get the high idle before actually start to drive...I hit the pedal the rpms hold at around 2k as if I'm still on the pedal but I'm not. If you watch the video, you'll see what I mean.
Yes I'm afraid to actually put it in gear and drive it
Video sure looks like the butterfly is sticking open. Have you tried opening the hood and closing by hand ? (is it reachable ?)

How long before it starts OK and the trouble starts again? After it has cooled down again?
I'm guessing air leak, did it just start acting like this suddenly?

Can try this for an easy, cheap possible solution.

just started acting like this. I start it up and let it get warm, cut it off and turn it on immediately after. Tap the pedal and I get the issue
