Default Engine Stops Running 2007 Roadster

While driving, my roadster with 31,000 miles, the engine stops while going 45 mph and I was able to coast into a business driveway. I tried to restart many times without any thing happening. Called AAA and then decided tossed if top would clos. Top closed and then I tried to start car again. It started and I drove home. It has started since. I checked for codes and found none. Any suggestions before I try mechanic? Thanks for suggestions.

What does that mean? Did the starter engage or not?

"Nothing happening" is too cryptic. Tell us what happened.

Two things I would do immediately. First change out the Crankshaft sensor. Then re-soldier or replace the RCM. Do them both as you will need to eventually.

That's the shotgun approach. If he tells us what happened, we'll know which of the two it is.

There's always my question: "When it wont' start, turn the key "ON" and wait 30 seconds - does the engine fan run up to warp speed?"

The trouble with the English language is that there are many ways to say what is supposed to be the the problem. But each one is open to various interpretations. No wonder others have trouble learning the language, my European friends are baffled at times. In their language there are one or two ways to succinctly explain the problem, try another way and you are classed as illiterate.

When I said nothing happened, no sound happened, sounded dead, but battery strong. No sounds from engine, starter.

Try the RCM first, refurbished by resoldering and inspecting relay contacts while it is out, or a whole new off market RCM.
Pull the unit out of the black box first and see if it is moving when the key is turned to ON and then RUN.
