Question will not run, help please

I laid my 2005 roadster up for a year, just fitted new battery and car will crank but not start. The only way to get the fuel pump running is to manually trigger the fuel pump relay which will start the car for a few seconds. As I have fitted a new battery could there be something influencing the relay other than a bad relay or board
crossfire has done no work just 5000 miles. help

try the fuel filter/regulator they are both in the filter housing, if that is gummed up, yet you are forcing fuel through ,,that would only let the engine run until it ran out of fuel.

The proper way to start is with a pressure gauge on the fuel rail. Should have over 30 psi to idle. If the fuel pump relay then a good chance you have a bad RCM (relay control module). Common problem.

A bad solder joint on the RCM?
You say manually trigger the relay, do you mean continuously or just for a few seconds?
Has a fuse blown on the RCM?
Has a fuse blown in the main fuse box?

If the fuse is good and the car starts/runs while you are forcing the contact closed on the fuel relay, the relay is bad. I can replace it and do other repairs on the RCM for you. $30

If interested email me at tighed1@hotmail.com for details.

Check your battery! Spoiler coming up on startup is classic bad battery...

I' don't believe that the tach registers anything during 'cranking'.

Based on your opening post, you already have diagnosed the problem, the fuel pump relay is bad. Change it or change the entire Relay Control Module. (Or yank the RCM and send it to Tighed1).

Not sure on the Crossfire, but others I have worked on will show rpm while cranking.

Agreed, the tach does not move until the engine starts operate under its own power.
