convertible top help
Hi all.I've searched the forums for an answer, but i didn't see a solution to my exact problem.it's a 2005.unlatch the windshield lock, windows go down, latch under the window comes up 3/4 of an inch and stops.my other problem is that all of a sudden the trunk doesn't open.(it has a new actuator pump)so i can't even get in to check divider, etc.after work i will try an access through the tag light.tia for any help.
update...i'm having the same exact issues as old dawg posted above me except my top is up and my spoiler is up.went out to check to see if my spoiler worked...didn't go down.my fuses are good,no esp light on,and my battery is two weeks old....any more thoughts?thanks for any help.
Do you mean the BOW? That is, the rear bow, that latches into the lid when the top is up fully?
If so, if the bow only goes up a little, you most likely have low fluid in the system due to a leak OR a sensor somewhere that is not reporting travel properly.

If the top cycle does not complete, (and yours obviously hasnt) then the electric trunk lock is locked because the TCM only unlocks the trunk at the END of the cycle - so this is expected behavior.
Sounds like what you MEAN is: "I can hear the pump running, so it must be working.
That is not always the case.

If the wing won't respond AND you are having top issues, I'd think "low voltage" due to the alternator not charging and/or a weak battery. Of course, if the engine is not running, then you WILL have low voltage.
From your PM (I am answering in public in order to help others who will read this AND to keep all the correspondence in the same thread):
I've never heard of a leak so bad the tank was EMPTY. How long have you owned the car?
The idea that the windows did not go down when you turned the "D" ring means the switch up there is bad, the top control module is bad, or the BCM and TCM are having a hard time "talking".
I will get back to this in my last response in this post.
What EXACTLY do you refer to? Then entire lock pump assembly? And why was it replaced? (I suspect this is all related).
There is too much going on here to make sense of it all. SO: Rip out the trim from the ENTIRE TRUNK. Look for ANY signs of water intrusion ANYWHERE in the trunk or wheel wells. If you find any, the road to fixing this may be quite involved. If no water damage is found, just knowing that is worth yanking the trim out.
One more time: What is your history with the car? Bought it last week? Owned it ten years? Stored it three years while you traveled to Mars for the CIA?
the other day top worked fine.go out yesterday unlatch the d ring lock on the tonneau cover came up about 3/4 of an inch and stopped working.
also with this spoiler stopped working along with the trunk.got in the trunk through the tag light and fluid was empty.found the leak and fixed it..

when i first tried to open it after the d ring was unlatched the windows didn't go down until i hit the top switch.so the sequence is unlock d ring, windows don't go down, get the beeping and the top light blinks.

the vacuum actuator for locks is new,
battery is 3 weeks old, fuses are good, and if i start the car the trunk will once again not open unless i get in through the tag light.other than bcm any other ideas i can try at home?thanks for any help you can provide.
