Default Mystery No Start Problem

I am a new member and was looking for an answer to my "Mystery No-Start" problem. I have tried to work thru all the posts related to that as best I can.

Here is the status:
Lights/radio/etc come on.
Battery is fine
When I turn the key to on, no fan revving up, just the sound of 2 relays clicking
I pulled the RCM module up out of the box just to see what I would get into in removing it
Tried the key again and it started right up (so movement of the wiring/box corrected something)
Drove it around the block, backed it in to make working on it easier, and then shut off.
Turned key immediately after that, no start, only two clicks
Disconnected battery and removed RCM
Reconnected RCM and then battery and watched the relays
All 3 relays close on the RCM board, with one opening after 2 sec
Examined the RCM with magnification, and I don't see cracks in solder, but I'm not an expert there.
Willing to buy a new RCM if needed, but want to make sure that is the problem.

Are there other things I should do first, or am I at the point of swapping out the RCM with a loaner with tighed1
and getting mine re-soldered?

Thanks, and thanks for all the helpful posts in the forum!

Before doing anything else remove the negative battery cable were it is grounded to the cars fender and clean that area.
Have you scanned the car for diagnostic codes?
If you are still using the original RCM that came with the car when new, then yes, send your RCM to tighed1 for refurbishing. At this time in it's life new contacts are a good place to start and tighed1 will correct that. After installing the refurbished RCM and the problem persists you can further delve into the problem; perhaps the pulse module.

Yank the RCM and send it to DJ.

Before sending the RCM off why not take it from its case, put the connectors back on the RCM and see if it is working properly. Prior to doing this have a look at the points and look for burnt surfaces.
Why blindly send the part away without checking it first?
