Problems Chrysler Crossfire
Hi I am a new member with a 2006 Crossfire. I had a new RCM a few years ago which I have looked at and it looks perfect. I got my car out of the garage for its MOT in the Uk (it had not been used for a year because of Covid). It ran fine for 2 days and then I have the following problems:
1. Engine cranks but does not start.
2. The key remote does not operate the door locking system. (I put new batteries in).
3. The indicate light flashes and all consul lights come on.
4. The boot and doors do not lock.
All the time I have started it when not used it had no problems.
I wander if it is a scram unit and is that easy to get and put in.
If anyone can assist me I would be so grateful. Regards Noel.

If you can crank more than 3 times without disconnecting the battery, the SKREEM is not the problem.
The multiple symptoms make me think that it's a bad battery. Crossfires do weird things when the batteries are going bad.
Can you hear the fuel pump run for 2 seconds when you first turn the key to the ON position?

When the doors do not open using the fob they will not close using the fob. You should be able to open and lock the doors manually using the key.
Maybe the Crankshaft Position Sensor has failed or the connection has corroded,,only buy a Bosch CPS.
Have you checked for any codes being set, is the engine error light on?
I have reset the remote fob several times to no effect. I put an OPD analyser in and there is no engine code showing. The management engine light goes out when it cranks and it turns over but just will not start. I read a thread which said that if the battery had been disconnected for some time the RCM can fail and the doors will not open/close on the remote but i cannot see how this could be the case but it would explain if it is a defective RCM (which looked brand new but I did see some dulling on the crucial terminals at the top (3 of them). RCM was replaced 2012. The battery charge shows nearly 14 across the terminals (13.7) and I was advised as the starter operates normally it would not be the security key module. So I am really baffled at the moment it went on 2 trips when it was a bit difficult to start but it operated really well no misfiring etc and rrestarted when hot. I am a bit dubious it is the crank shaft sensor. I am concerned it is the security key module but I was assured if it cranked it would not do that.
I would like to say how kind you are to afford the time to reply to me thank you so much.
Regards
Noel
