Hello ,

My 04 crossfire has recently developed an issue. The ESP/BAS like came on and the rear brake lights are acting strange... the drivers side never comes on and the 3rd brake and pas side are on at all times the time.

Which style of scanner is required to check the ABS/ESP/BAS light codes ?

I did replace the battery recently but I have performed the "reset procedure " multiple times since then to no avail. I'm going to swap the brake light relay and do the TPMS disable in the meantime. Next is go over the entire brake system and check the ABS sensors, ETC.

Any tips or similar experiences with this ?

Finally got a chance to dig into the XF last few days. Found that the drivers side brake light socket is loose , contact tab is bent excessively. Bent the tang up a bit and so far is working , if it goes out again i'm just going to replace the harness. ( BIG shout out to forum member Red Dog btw , I reached out to him for a possible replacement harness and he was more then helpful and quick to find/offer up a harness. Seems like a prime example of a great to deal with forum member/seller. Thanks again ! )

Next changed out the yellow relay and the brake light switch and bingo , brake lights work as intended now and all the warning lights went out.

Next on the hit parade is a replacement front grill , front fenders.

Can you please tell me which and where is the yellow relay you mention. I have ABS/BAS lights on.
