Default Grinding Noise

I'm trying to figure out what is wrong with my crossfire i'm a bit fearful to trust anyone to work on the car because the moment they see it they want to charge 10X because they say oh it's mercedes.

So i'm driving and I hear a grinding noise coming from underneath the center console storage compartment the grinding noise goes away once the car is driving at normal speeds.
upon take off is when I'm experience this issue.

I live in the San Jose, I'm trying to find a good genuine mechanic who honest any recommendations let me know

Put the car up on jack stands and inspect the drivetrain. Pay attention to the Guibo's and the u-joint, they may have deteriorated. If any of the 'shields' have contact, or too near the driveshaft, it may be rubbing. This simple inspection may save you plenty, let us know what you found.

How many miles? I now know of FOUR cars that needed new flex discs, all cars had 150,000 to 220,000 miles on them and three were making noises that make you think the car was falling apart at low speeds.

My suspects are: Flex disc (I think so), differential (probably not) or wheel bearings (really don't think so). And I'd almost bet money on flex disc.
Who will take a $50 bet?

Find an Independent European repair shop the repairs Mercedes and tell them you have the same car as a 2003 Mercedes SLK320.

See, I question if that is really necessary in this case. In this case, I'd bet he has bad flex discs, not hard to replace, they are our car's version of a u-joint.
Pretty low-tech stuff. I used a small garage in Georgia where three brothers and two sons owned the place and worked on cars for fluid changes, brakes, etc.
