Rear window latch not opening
My wifes 05 roadster has been sitting for a few years, we decided to get it back on the road. replaced the battery, got the ESP/BAS lights to clear, waiting on a new resister for the blower. in the mean time cannot get the top to go down. I unlatch the roof and push up, the windows do down, i hear what sounds like the trunk locking, sounds like the hydraulics kick in but the rear window does not unlatch so it times out and stops. I have looked at the switch above the passenger and it appears to be ok. The rear window just does not unlatch. any thoughts would be helpful. I have searched the threads and read them and tried what I could, I am not an electrician, so i would be winging it to test continuity. We also at one time replaced the module behind the passenger wheelwell because it was under water after the rear window unglued the first time. we now keep it in a plastic container in the trunk itself. Any help would be appreciated, thanks
If the pump is starting up, but the latch won't let go, I'd suspect low fluid, pump damage or a problem with the PTCM. If the pump starts, all the sensors that set you up for the pump to start, the BCM and the CLP/SSM are fine.
Low fluid would be my "go to" as the other two are not really all that likely. A car that sat that long can sure have problems, but given that the pump is starting, I'd want to check the fluid level first.
I wrote all of this to explain how the system works, but if the pump is starting, everything I talk about here is fine:

I doubt it will help, but try a top re-sync. Start the engine and put the top up and down manually, completely, three times.
See if it will work then - it takes only about 20 minutes and costs nothing to try . Again, I REALLY DOUBT this will help but it's free to try.

thanks
You must hit the button to put hte top UP, even tho it is up, if the trunk lock is still locked. Pressing "UP" should unlock the trunk lock so you can get in there.
Well I got the tool and put the top down in the trunk. It went down like in the video, but my spoiler went up and the light on the switch was flashing, the top switch light was flashing and the BAS/ESP, ABS lights came back on and would not clear. I took it for a drive and everything stayed on, at speed I had a beeping that stopped after I slowed down, I put the top back up when I got back in the driveway, and then the spoiler worked and went down using the switch. I did not check the hydraulic fluid level, I will in the morning.
Well I checked my reservoir and I think I know why the top does not work hydraulically, the reservoir level is not only low but appears to be empty. So I guess I have some leaks somewhere. I just need to figure out why all my lights come on when i put the top down manually. I can live with manually operating the top if I didn't get the other problems when I do, ie lights and spoiler.
99% of the time it is the top cylinders. Top hydraulics rebuilds them. I believe there is a video on U-tube showing how to refill the reservoir. Be sure you use the correct fluid.
Well I think I am starting to understand how the Crossfire is different from others, after reading different posts here I tried checking the tire pressures, my right front tire has a slow leak, after I pressed it up and topped up the others, I did the reset with the tires, my BAS/ESP, ABS lights cleared and the spoiler light went out and is working like it is supposed to. These are definitely different to troubleshoot.
