Default Left turn signal dash light

'06 Xfire: My left and right turn signals work just fine. However the left turn signal dash light indicator not illuminating. When I turn the left turn signal on I hear no "click click" but the front and rear signals work. The right turn signal "clicks" when turned on. Are they on different relays or fused separately or do I just have a burnt out left indicator bulb? You know I don't want to remove the dash for a dang burnt out light bulb!!!!!

I think the "click" is generated electronically by the signal that feeds those green turn signal lights. It is possible that changing that indicator will make current flow and generate the 'click'.
It is also possible that the connection form the console switch group to the instrument panel is bad. ON the back of the instrument panel, check for pulsing voltage at C1 pin 1A with the turn signal activated.
If you see no pulse, the issue is in the console switch group or harness. If you see the pulse, the problem is in the Instrument panel.

Uh oh! Sounds like the dash has to be removed! How about I just ignore it, as I have for the past 4 months, and just remember to turn off the signal when making a left lane change or other drivers honking at me all the time! LOL

Thanks once again Pizzaguy!

I have the same exact problem
I did remove the cluster and I did change the bulb, still not working.
I was into the dash to remedy the Sticky key" problem so the cluster was easy to get to.

IMHO learn to live with it guys.
So many plastic parts cracked on me a lot of frustration and no remedy anyhow.

The indicator does not flash w 4 ways either
Its annoying, however every once in a while I test it behind another vehicle when I can see the flash reflecting
Miss the old school metal flashers for 4$ that popped out in 1 sec and hung down openly beneath the dash

Yes that's the same thing I've been doing for a long time now. When I get stopped behind another vehicle, and making a left turn, I always look for a reflection. ( We have learned to overcome! Ha ha)

I'm getting the idea that BCMs are starting to fail in our fleet. For my first twelve years here, no such failures were known on the forum. Cant say that anymore, this is at least the third issue related to a BCM since I moved to Arkansas in 2020.

There was at least one failure before 2020, someone heard clicking from their BCM and when they opened it up there was a burned contact. I don't remember what issue they had though.

The hardest thing, for me, is if it's necessary to remove the dash bezel having to remove the panel above the floorboard. At 76 my body just doesn't contort like it used too! It I have to remove the dash "again" I just won't put it back on. All that just to get at two screws if I remember correctly. I did do something to help with bezel removal on my '05 XF which I broke and repaired. At top of the bezel's back side there are two long mounting "teeth" that have to be lifted way up to remove the bezel. Well that's what caused me to break my brittle bezel. I cut off about 1/3 or so of the two "teeth" so it doesn't have to go up so high and stressing the plastic.

I think it's the Body control Module. I just found a YouBoob video on where it is and how to remove.

The BCM is Body Control Module - it runs the wipers, turn signals, and handles a lot of communications between SKREEM and CLP/SSM and also processes switch inputs from the console switches and passes this information to the various modules in the car. The BCM plays a role in some, but not all, CAN BUS signalling. The BCM tells the top module if the retainer latch switch is open or closed, and if the windows are going down properly..

The BCM is in the middle of a LOT of what is going on with the car....
