Default Are early Crossfires different ?

Recently fought a 10/03 Crossfire Coupe, one of the first 10,000. My scanner cannot communicate if told it is a '04 Chrysler Crossfire but can if told it is an SLK320. Fob key chip also comes back as a SLK320. Were the first ones different electrically ? YWTK

Yes a lot of the electronics were taken right from the 2002 slk 320. the 04 was the only crossfire to come with a auto dim (electric) mirror there are a few things that do not work the same ,,,i think all our key fobs have the Mercedes star on them. people in the know can chime in with more differences .

It has been said for a LONG time, that the only difference is that 07-08s have a modded underdash and different glove box configuration.
But I already know that there are other differences: They moved the fuse and feed for the rear wing around between Limited/Base as early as 05, they moved other fuses as well.

It would not surprise me if the 2004s had differences we've not documented.

And my 07 Coupe had knee air bags which made getting into the dash difficult. I have service manuals for both '04 and '07 but would take a lot of study

My '05 SRT has the Chrysler logo on the fob as did my '04 NA. The top fob is a virgin 2005 SRT fob and the lower picture is a replacement fob case.
My new '04 NA had the auto dimming rear view mirror, the Chrysler logo on the top of the tire valve stems caps and as well as the fob.

Also the 2004 and the very early 2005's had the silver interior pieces finished with gloss clearcoat instead of the satin you find in the 2005 thru 2008 Crossfires.

Some early 2005’s had the glossy interior as well. Me and Ali Ozgür the guy who produced the Double Din kit found this out while searching for the interior paint codes. Which there was none ever given as the paint/color was put on during the molding process if memory serves me correctly.

I think the early 2005's had gloss clearcoat to use up the 2004 model year inventory before switching to the satin finish.
