Default 2008 Convertible top issues

Have I got a story for you. The rear window on my crossfire fell out while I was away and needless to say water got into the trunk area. The top was non functioning. I had the car into a supposedly reputable shop for repair. After the shop had my car for 1 year !!!!!! I finally got it back with no real work having been done. I am in need of a unique, specialized repair shop that can take on this problem and fix it. I live in Buffalo NY but will drive the car wherever it needs to go. I spent one summer already without my Crossfire and don't want to do this again. Anybody out there know a shop or willing to take on this problem. I miss my Crossfire.

Sounds likely that you have two issues happening. First...the top. You will need a new one. You can order one over seas (Wales) from BAS International. They are not quick. Can take about 8-10 weeks to get here. Cost about $800 shipped. Or you can buy one from a USA dealer for about $1200-$1400. Either way you then need to have it installed by someone. Second issue is dealing with the water in the trunk. If it got a lot of water in there then chances are your central locking pump which is located in the bottom of your trunk is now bad. You can buy used ones to replace it with but will have to shop around for that. THEN again you will need someone to install it. You can save some cash if you do all the work yourself but if you can't then expect to pay someone for that. There are a few people that travel around the country working on Crossfires. Brian Hoffman is out of Florida. He might be able to help you. He travels a lot doing exactly this kind of work and is a dealer for convertible tops.I know he is in the Facebook groups but unsure if he is on this forum. Good luck and I hope you can get your car back on the road soon.

Tom summed it up as I would have after reading your post here
Common problem seen many times here
One of our own tech guys here who own a Crossfire will likely be the best source to resolve your problems

If the top won't move, I'd bet water got into the CLP/SSM. I've fixed three Roadsters that had this issue, all three times, I replaced the CLP/SSM and last three feet of wiring harness, parts taken from a donor car.
Fixed it every time. The module and harness will run $100-$300. Labor takes less than two hours.

First, ya gotta source a new top. I prefer BAS tops in the UK. About $850 delivered, they are 6-8 weeks behind right now.
There are a few other manufacturers out there. I will let Zach know you are looking for help, he's one of the east coast guys that fixes our cars.
