Default Magnetic clutch of the AC compressor

Hello , my ac doesn't work. When I put on the AC , there no "Kling" and the center of the AC pulley doesn't turn . I check the fuses , there are ok. Is there any relay for the AC ? And where ? . I have an other question, can I check directly on the electrical connector if I have 12 v on the AC magnetic clutch ? Thanks for your help. Regards

You may also be too low on coolant for it to engage.

There is a safety feature that if the freon gets to low it will keep from turning to prevent the compressor from burning up. My guess is low on freon usually caused by a leak in the system.

In the relay control moodul/PCM/BCM large black plastic box (next to the battery) there is a connector to the A/C clutch attached to the forward wall. You can disconnect that electric connector, apply 12v directly to the clutch and see if it engages.
If it engages then clutch is OK and you are low on R-134a refrigerant.

Here is a picture of the connector. It has a tag on the purple wire. I have forgotten which wire runs directly to the A/C clutch, but you can figure that out or check wiring diagram.

I recognize this is an old thread; but, I appear to have the same issue. Did you ever run the test? What were the results? I don't suspect a leak in my system, as it was working fine until the alternator failed. Upon replacing the alternator everything worked except for the air conditioning. I'm trying to determine if the is a cause/effect of disconnecting the battery to accomplish the alternator change. Thanks.

Did you disconnect the negative battery cable first?
When reconnecting the battery, did you connect the positive first?
If you didn't do it in that order you may have caused an electrical spike. I would suggest checking your fuses first.

Thanks for the response, yes, I disconnected/reconnected the negative cable first. I am an old school mechanic with over 60 years of engine building experience, just not into all the electronics on the newer cars. Checked ALL the fuses int he fuse box just to be sure, all are in excellent condition, no faults. Read somewhere to put power on pin three in connector box 106 (Front of module box) but not completely sure which is pin three. Attached photo shows contents of connector. Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Side note, when engine is running and the AC switch is depressed, the red light illuminates and the engine speed increases approximately 20-50 rpm even though there is no visible operation of the clutch.
