Default Gremlins in electrical

Took my 05 roadster for a drive and first the wing popped up at low speed and stayed up, then a bunch of warning lights came on, the speedometer quit and the brake lights wont work. Everything else works! Any ideas?

How old is your battery, should have it checked for voltage, must be over 12 volts, otherwise the electronics tend to malfunction. Check the bulbs in the rear tail lights, and your "bulb out" light should be on the dash.

Been awhile since I have been on here but since it is a roadster make sure there is no moisture in the trunk area. Can make things light up! Very voltage sensitive cars. Many on here who can help. Use the search feature as well. Punch in your problem, someone has dealt with it.

Dead give-away in red bold above. The brake controller has no power, so:
  1. The brake light switch is operated NOT by the pedal (that switch is for the starter interlock and SLA [shift lever park release]) but by the brake controller, which is dead, so the controller cant turn the brake lights on.
  2. The instrument panel/"message center" is telling you it cant talk to the brake controller, again, because the controller is dead, so the panel is turning on lights, to indicate there is a problem.
  3. With no wheel speed sensor data from the brake controller, the BCM is making guesses as to when to deploy the wing, out of concern for safety: Maybe you are going 120, better put the wing up.
What is wrong:
The "Traction Control" output from the RCM has failed. Check your RCM fuses (see below, fuse 1, note that it is the MIDDLE fuse). If the fuse is good, put your spare RCM in and send the bad one to D.J. for rebuilding. It's probably the relay itself, it's coil is open.

How I know:
Those who want proof: You CAN PROVE what I am saying, by yanking the Traction control fuse from YOUR RCM, you will get the exact same issues he is, put the fuse back in, and all works again. I yanked my TC fuse one day and went for a ride up the street, had just what he has now.

@MikeN :

"Spare RCM?"
As of last fall, here is my rule number 1:

1A) The car does not leave the garage without a new or rebuilt-by-DJ spare RCM in the trunk.
1B) The car does not leave the garage without a new BOSCH Crank sensor in the trunk.

I have been left stranded by my Crossfires three times: once for a "sticky key lockup" in 2010, once for a CPS in 2013, once for an RCM last fall - NEVER AGAIN!

That brings us to Rule 2:
2) You do not drive a Crossfire, other than home from buying it, without doing the sticky key mod.

Got in car yesterday to check fuses etc and no warning lights on, lowered wing with switch, as soon as it beeped and was completely down , warning lights came on and wing went back up. I checked all fuses and they are ok. Battery at 12.6, did not check the tail light bulbs yet

Send me your relay control module to get it refurbished. Email tighed1@hotmail.com for the details.

This looks like plagiarism to me, I note the mistake that was corrected and the additional info but adding your name to my original is like me signing my name on the Mona Lisa.
My people will be talking to your people.

I thought Bob McCubbin made that originally. See, this is why I put my name on it, not only to try to be honest, but also, if a mistake is found, we all know who to blame.

I posted this photo some time before 2016, there was another one before that even.
How I got the fuse numbers mixed up is beyond me.

The original marked up photo was posted by me in 2010 and updated in 2016. I guess I a going to update it again and get it correct this time with a little luck. 🙄

Have you disconnected or replaced the alarm siren?

Gremlins in our getting "older" Crossfires have found a good home in them!

Dave, I have had a "onedrive" failure and have lost almost everything, I will be rebuilding my harddrive over the next months - so hold on to what ever you find of mine!

DO NOT TRUST OneDrive.

We really cant help you there. Other than "Disconnect the siren" or other guesses, there is no way to help you other than give you our list of guesses.
And that's what most here do - unless you are willing to do the work yourself, all anyone can do is say "It was this when I went thru it" or "I heard it's caused by that...." Using those techniques, you may fix it fast, or may struggle for months or a year until you stumble on it.

Anyway, here is the list of guesses:
A trunk or dome light not turning off.
An AM/FM head that is dying and not hibernating properly.
A bad alarm siren.
The headlight switch not in the vertical, 12 o'clock position.
A water damaged CLP/SSM due to the car sitting outside and leaking water around the (SRT) WIng, the fuel filler seal, or the trunk lid seal(s).
A bad HVAC "blower motor resistor"
Others will chime in with guesses I am forgetting.

There can be other causes, but those are the big ones. I went to a LOT of trouble to try to help people with this, but most are too lazy to even try, if you are not lazy, click here:
CLICK THIS. If you ARE lazy, you are not a bad person, just average.
