Two lonely wires can’t figure out where they go! Help
Hello everyone. I have two wires and I can’t Wires are coiled up in my hand, but you can see where they lead to on the junction. Please help.
figure out where they go. They come from a junction behind the driver side headlight, and the picture you should be able to see exactly where they’re coming from. It’s two wires one wire is brown with the red stripe and the second wire is a solid brown any help would be greatly appreciated, I have no working horn and I’ve checked the airbag steering wheel connections are tight connections to the horns themselves are tight horns are new and not sure where these two wires lead to and if they may have something to do with my issue, all fuses are fine. RCM needs work , these wires are similar to the wires that to the horns themselves. That’s why I’m not sure if this may have something to do with my issue if someone can verify in their own vehicle where these two wires lead to I’d be greatly appreciative thanks for the input.
Re: Two lonely wires can’t figure out where they go! Help
First, brown tells you nothing, why? Because solid brown is always ground in the Crossfire.
Now,
1) I see no "Brown/red" wire in the diagrams for the front lighting. But there IS a gray/red pair going to the front passenger side marker light. The right park lamp is also gray/red.
2) Horn wires are black/pink.
3) Why are you hiding the harness these wires come out of? That makes it even harder.

it looks like fog lamp wiring. Horns have 3 wires each. With one solid brown to each horn. I found this one on my parts car. With 2 browns. Raining today I cannot verify without dissasembling a working car. But it is the only wiring with 2 browns together. I cannot actually tell where those two split from the larger part of the harness. A clear pic of that would be helpful for me to identify the location. Also. How far do they reach? Do they make it to the horn? Do they exit the main harness together or from different locations?
Re: Two lonely wires can’t figure out where they go! Help
Thank you for the quick reply all side markers currently working and I will try and get some better pictures once I get home can’t thank you enough. I had no idea that brown is a ground and I’ll double check the colors on that second wire. I don’t know if it’s just weathered but it definitely looks like brown with red and thank you for the link. If you don’t mind me asking so from those cluster of wrapped up wires, do you to your knowledge know what else comes from there all headlights are fine. Highbeams are fine. Side markers are fine. Parking lamps and blinkers are fine, I’m thinking it must somehow be connected to the horns. I may have to follow the horn wires back and see where they go and it looks as if the bumper may be coming off so I could do a more thorough evaluation of where these wires need to go.

No worries bud. I was wrong about the fog lamps. Those wires go directly to the hood latch. Tucked under a plastic shield that runs under the top of the core support. Into a sensor or something. Pics are not that great.

Agreed. The electronics on these outclassed American counterparts at that time. Happy to help out. Thanks for the kind words bud. I might have that sensor if yours is missing. Im currently trying to locate some other small parts for other members. I will keep an eye out for it and set it aside if I find it. In case you do.

Hi Whitexfire84,
are you sure those wires don't go to your outdoor temperature sensor - it's located in that exact spot and only has 2 wires. Is your outdoor temperature sensor working?

Temp sensor is 20 inches below and towards the left. Green and brown wires. The brown and brown with red stripe are usually wrapped around the hood latch cable.

pizza guy any idea what that might be?
One of the issues with the service manual is that there is no guide to what a wire is based on color. All you can do, manual-wise, is to go to each section of the wiring chapter that MIGHT apply and look for the wire color combo.
In this case, that would be:
Front lighting
Turn Signals
Instrument cluster (contains sensor wire colors all over the car)
Horn/Cigar LIghter
Vehicle Speed (probably not but you never know)
Antilock brakes
Body Control Module (that module is involve din EVERYTHING in the car)
There are aspects to the service manual that make it hard to find what you are looking for.

Can’t believe how expensive srt coupe spoilers are.. and super rare as well to find anywhere. As for the temp sensor mine is connected but dangling and tbh I don’t have the first clue where I fact it’s even supposed to go … as it is the temp sensor on the gauge cluster reads 100 degrees sometimes and on cold days 50’s. Doesn’t really make much sense being that it hasn’t been 100 degrees here in my since I don’t even know when. Maybe it’s reading just the engine bay temp? As for the first post on this thread. Luckily I have pretty thick skin and honestly had no idea that all grounds are brown . Thank you for all of your help fellas.

The temp sensor is located behind the fascia cover on the drivers side of the bumper cover.
