I own my crossfire for over 10 years now. In the beginning there was that 'mistery no start' problem. I soldered
the print plate and it was actually fixed for many years. Now suddenly almost once a week, my car does just not
start anymore. If I turn the key, dashboard, radio etc... goes online but the engine does nothing. I rechecked the
print plate and the soldering still seems to be OK.

It does not seem to be the "skreem" issue because in that case the engine would crank. In my case it remains totally dead when I turn the key.

When I disconnect the battery (not sure this is solving the issue) and wait for a least 24hours before reconnecting, the car starts again.

Any suggestions what I could do to fix this ? Can I do some kind of active reset instead of just waiting?

I would think it's the Relay Control Module. The soldering may be good, but the relays inside may have gone bad. Have you tried replacing the RCM and see if the problem goes away?
If the fuel pump relay has failed the car won't start. You can test this by using a rubber band a round it to keep it closed.Also, check the fuses on top.

 

Thank you for your response and solution. I haven't yet checked the RCM module like you indicated. But now suddenly and magically it is fixed.
The last 3 weeks no more problems ...

I hope you get a spare RCM other wise you may get stuck on the road.
Most every one has a spare in their trunk. I have driven crossfires for
over 12 years and from the day that TJ started to rebuild the relays & solderwhere needed
and make a test car setup ,, I have had a spare jim

 

I would thing something is loose. I agree with amx1397 that you should get a spare RCM just in case. Or at least send yours out to @tighed1 to have it refurbished.
His repairs have a quick turnaround time and it's very inexpensive. Also your horn will work without having to put the key in the ignition.
Why they didn't make that happen from the factory is beyond me.

 

You are going to get stranded by that car. It is not fixed.
Order a new RCM and keep it handy for the day that is coming.

 

It is always easier to fix it at home than on the road.
