You've got to yank the center console partly out to get to it. And it's not the "driver's side" controller, its the only controller. If you mean just the airbag itself, that is pretty easy and there is no programming.

For questions like this, you will be getting guesses from most of us. Ask the parts retailer you buy it from - if they cant' tell you, I'd not buy from them.

You might email Rob at needswings, but it seems unfair to expect him to give away free advice - so maybe order one from him - HE will KNOW the answer to your questions and what he sells you WILL WORK. If programming or anything else is required, he will know.

Lets just ask him: Hey Rob, what is the answer?

the srs/airbag module is direct swapable in at least the first generation (04-06 or 07-08), i just swapped a module into my 05 limited roadster over the weekend as there has been a light on since i bought it. roadster got water into trunk/CLP and had several electrical gremlins i worked though, related, not sure? i assume and would attempt the swap on a 07-08 module and expect not to have to program it.

i disconnected the battery neg terminal,
turned on headlights for a few seconds to drain all power.
remove radio (need radio removal keys)
remove shifter surround, trim tool
pull ebrake
put shifter into N
remove large shifter surround, just flip back and out of the way, leave connected.
remove 2 screws for trim face/climate control
remove trim face, let hang on drivers side still connected
remove 4 screws for ashtray module
remove 4 screws for center dash (so i can spread them apart wide enough to twist the ashtray module out)
pull out ashtray module and let hang into pass footwell, do not need to disconnect
unplug airbag module
unscrew 3 torx screws (t27 or t30 from memory?)
swap, reconnect battery, reassemble
the airbag light remained on for about a minute on the car, took it around the block and it cleared itself and has not come back in 3 days.

the chrysler part number you are posting will not be much help as that is not written on the actual part. you will want to search with the mercedes dual ID number, for at least the 04-06 it is 0018200826. i would need to pull the module out of my 08 coupe to verify they are the same mercedes part number on the sticker, then look at the version numbers on the sticker. i flipped through ebay for you and send off a few messages asking sellers that have listings for crossfire modules which car they came from specifically so i can hopefully find one that says 07-08 that i can link you to.
i know i have dealt with finding this module for 07-08 guys before, i will need to dig a bit to find the part number for the 07-08 version in my notes....
