hahahha I know what you mean!!! They made me mad!!! & I'm talking about the metal clips. I just put the lights in and said effffff the damnnnnnnnnnnnn clips and threw them over my backyard fence lol...i regret doing that because now when i drive, my lights wiggle and I can barely see anything. I just advise you to not do what I did.

Not really - if you remove the front sidelights, you can see the outside bottom bolt for the headlight. Then all you have to do is turn the wheel all the way left/right, remove the little door, and use a 1/4" 10mm on a 6" extension to remove that bolt. The inside bolt can be accessed inside the hood with a 10mm open end and your fingers.

Here's a hint I may have mentioned in another post : after removing all 4 mounting bolts, the plugin wiring harness and the running light, if you then remove the 2 hollow adjustment things on each side of the headlight bottom, you can remove it from the car much easier, as it provides more clearance.
Upon re-installation, get the light assembly in, then start the two adjusters in the threads. Mount the headlight with the top 2 bolts first, then hand adjust the adjusters until they just touch the mounting tabs, secure with the 2 bottom bolts.

If you really decided this much less wieght would make it faster.. ..maybe take a couple minutes when the car is going to sit and use a small amount of silicon sealant? should hold it stable and be able to remove with a little extra effort.

That info is here somewhere if you search, but in a nutshell, it says use a long open end 10mm wrench to loosen and tighten, and use needle nose pliers for the extraction.

I know this is an ancient thread but I just had to change my low beam bulbs and wouldn't you know it... whoever the idiot was who last changed the right low beam bulb did indeed manage to lose the wire clip that holds it in the socket. I wondered why that light always seemed off. I pull the back off and there's the bulb 1/2 hanging in there. So... What to do? It doesn't take much pressure to hold that bulb in the socket but without any pressure it will just keep falling backward. For a temporary fix I cut a piece of the clear plastic package the new bulbs came in and managed to put that in there with my right hand while holding the bulb in place with my left hand (while facing the car). Then while holding the plastic there with my right hand I put the rear cover back on and the bulb is being held in the socket from the slight pressure but not enough that it can push the back cover off. Anyone know where one of those stupid little wire clips can be found? I'm kind of wondering if I may be able to somehow fashion one out of a paperclip but that would involve taking one of the others that is in place out to use as a template which I could do. Heck, maybe I just leave that piece of plastic in there for the duration or I'll take a measurement from the back of the electric plug to the plane of the rear rubber cover and then come up with something I could glue to the back of the wire connector that would be just the right size to hold the bulb in the socket when the back cover is on.

You could try asking if anyone has a broken headlight and would part with a wire?

The spring clip you need is a Saab part #5400007. Just Google the part number.

This is good to know. Saved it in my Crossfire Parts file.
