Yup,

Buy two and run a long cord between them and voila you can go as long as you want just ensure that you have enough cord!

The retractable ones work the best that way there are less tangles. LOL!

quick question, I just did this today and it didnt do anything. I connected everything the way it is shown on the pics. the only difference was, my buzzer was kind of big. it was 273-063 and it was higher voltage wise too. (thats the only buzzer they had so i grabbed it)

do you think that has to do with it or possible bad buzzer?

thanks

I would think it should work without problems and it also should be louder. Connect it to a 12VDC source to see it is the sound you want. One thing is that the 079 draws 150ma current. The 059 is only rated 10ma and the 060 is 5ma. Thats .15 amps v.s. .01 and .005 amps, which is quite a difference. But, it's not really a lot of current for any of them.

I love this Forum!!!
Did you have to drill to get the wire out of the fuse box or was there an opening? How do I get to the Fuse box? Do you remove the air cleaner cover somehow? Thanks Ron

The lid still snapped into place as before the install.
I think maybe mounting outside is the way to go.
Do you get one long beep or is it 3 separate chirps? Thanks Ron

You get a short tone with each light blink. Three to lock and one to unlock. The sound depends on the tone buzzer that you install.

Thumbs up Re: Do you want a Keyless Entry Alert Tone?

I did this mod a while back, and it works great. I wouldn't mind if it was a little bit louder (I chose the louder of the two initial choices given), but as long as I listen for it as I walk away, it's fine.

I have to thank Corfire This was simple and straight forward to do. I used the -060 and installed it out side of the box and it is plenty loud for me.

Thanks again

Glad you found this simple mod. Most that have tried it like the results. This thread often disappears into the bowels of the forum, but every now and then someone finds it and trys it out. Maybe it would be worthy of sticky status?

Having done this on both XFires, I agree. Very easy and well worth the few minutes it takes.

It is certainly worthy of sticky status. I have often thought that we need a consolidated sticky that contains all of the most common things that newbies eventually find, to include....

• Do you want a Keyless Entry Alert Tone?
• Biggest stereo bang for the buck mod
• Global Unlocking on Key Remote - One Press Unlocking
• Throttle Body Reset
• Lowering Suspension
• Wheel spacers/bolts
• Ceramic Brake Pads
• Reset FSS after oil change
• HIDs

And I am sure that there are many others, but wouldn't be neat to have like a "Beginners Guide to the Crossfire" sticky?

Finally got around to installing this yesterday, when I took my roadster out of winter storage -- it may be March, but it's been over 60 here for a week now! Woohoo! Anyhow, awesome mod, corfire, just fantastic. I bought the 60 buzzer, but once you get it sealed inside the fuse box and then shut the hood, it's very quiet. I'll probably mount it outside the box at some point. Still, this is a huge improvement over, y'know, dead silence! It's audible if you listen for it, and certainly a lot better than a horn honk. Very classy kind of sound.

Thanks again. Love this forum, just awesome advice here for our great cars!
