I recently had my drivers side seat recovered due to the heater problem. I noticed a squeek coming from the drivers side back and tracked it down to the [lastic panel that holds the seat adjustment controls. They are rubbing on the bottom tube of the seat. I have not done anything about it yet, but the sticky felt idea sounds like it will do the trick nicely.

If you hear the squeek from below or behind the driver you may want to check and see. Bounce a bit on the seat when the car is sitting still. If you hear the squeek then, it is probably the seat adjusters.

You will have to do this as needed. Unless you have something loose, this will do wonders.

I did this and it worked wonders...

Dumb question:

Do you store it over winter?
Maybe some mice made a nice little home in your Crossfire????

Anyway, I have been noticing a squeak coming from the dash on the passenger's side. It's getting extremely irritating recently and just seems to be growing worse. I put some white lithium on it and it stopped for maybe a day (by the way if you have this problem DONT try it - it can discolor your dash )

Has anybody else had this problem and/or fixed it?
I recently started having this exact problem. It is either in the glove box or, more likely, being caused by where the right of the dash is attached to the frame itself, below the passenger side A pillar. It started when it got really cold around here (low 30s). I'm thinking that the plastic on the dash is contracting and rubbing against the side of the car. I may try the WD-40 solution, but I'm mentioning it to the dealer to see if anything can be tightened up.

Anyone ever find a fix for this specific squeak? It's really annoying.

If you really want the best, buy some Dow-Corning MolyKote D-96. Usually you can find it in an industrial coatings plant, automotive interior specialists, or have Granger order it for you.

You can also get a small sample sent to you. I have had 2 shipped to me already. Comes in an itty bitty tube that's good for about 3 years.

You can also call the folks at www.krayden.com and have them send you a big bottle for the really big squeaks...like a passenger that's pissed you are driving your XF too fast.
