Irritating Squeak
Re: Irritating Squeak
yeah thats what i am gonna do but i am going to put that felt all over, becaus im not so sure its coming from there i tore it all apart tonight and drove around, and its still there so i don't know still looking and tightening bolts and just basically still looking, but i am going to do the felt thing tomorrow in as many places as i can that squeak. also what is this deposit you made on intake manifold? from needswings?
Re: Irritating Squeak
I recently had my drivers side seat recovered due to the heater problem. I noticed a squeek coming from the drivers side back and tracked it down to the [lastic panel that holds the seat adjustment controls. They are rubbing on the bottom tube of the seat. I have not done anything about it yet, but the sticky felt idea sounds like it will do the trick nicely.
If you hear the squeek from below or behind the driver you may want to check and see. Bounce a bit on the seat when the car is sitting still. If you hear the squeek then, it is probably the seat adjusters.

Re: Irritating Squeak
i have no squeak when sitting still or bouncing around even if i sit in car and have someone else bounce it up and down, its only when going down the road and seems to do it more when i am on the gas a little. can't track it down, i took wheels off on back sprayed everything on both sides with wd and it went away it is def. something outside, but today about a week and a half later the squeak it back so now i am spraying one spot at a time till i find it.

You will have to do this as needed. Unless you have something loose, this will do wonders.

Anyway, I have been noticing a squeak coming from the dash on the passenger's side. It's getting extremely irritating recently and just seems to be growing worse. I put some white lithium on it and it stopped for maybe a day (by the way if you have this problem DONT try it - it can discolor your dash )
Has anybody else had this problem and/or fixed it?

Anyone ever find a fix for this specific squeak? It's really annoying.

If you really want the best, buy some Dow-Corning MolyKote D-96. Usually you can find it in an industrial coatings plant, automotive interior specialists, or have Granger order it for you.
http://www.dowcorning.com/applicatio...4368&type=PROD
You can also get a small sample sent to you. I have had 2 shipped to me already. Comes in an itty bitty tube that's good for about 3 years.
You can also call the folks at www.krayden.com and have them send you a big bottle for the really big squeaks...like a passenger that's pissed you are driving your XF too fast.
